I can't believe I'm actually posting this kind of in time! Editing was definitely a wild ride today, lol. This fic was written for Eremika Week 2026, for the summer prompt "cicadas at midnight; summer festival" ☀️ @eremikaweekevent Have some slice-of-life moments and a visit to the town's summer festival. The prompts for this event were absolutely wonderful, and I'm a little sad I only got to write something for one of them!

Having a crush on Mikasa is a thrilling and wonderful experience, and Eren finds himself right in the middle of it. Between the butterflies and the excitement of being around her, however, he also discovers that falling for someone comes with a whole range of other emotions. Confusion when he isn't sure how to read her feelings or how to react. Frustration when he can't find the courage to say what he wants to say. Jealousy when he sees her talking to someone else. And embarrassment when he tries and fails to act cool around her. But as spring fades into summer and they get to know each other better, he begins to realise that what he feels for Mikasa is more than just a simple crush.
