On an newspaper assignment I additionally had the job to shoot an special photo for their category ‘picture of the day’. So between two assignments I drew by all sorts of blooming and sprouting fields when all of a sudden there was that large red spot of poppies popping out of a field of rapeseeds – poppies galore indeed!

Unfortunately this year the ice of the lake was quite thin so they already had to cancel the first races. This morning however there is some hope that the rest of the lake will be frozen very fast as we have some traditional freezing temperatures again.

Standing on the  verge from the blue hour to the fully sunny side at the shore of lake San Murezzan looking up in direction of St. Moritz village. The Badrutt’s Palace Hotel is sticking out of the scene with it’s big red tower. It’s one of the most expensive residences in town.

As it gets warmer during the day snow starts to melt and from time to time a heavy load will be released by the trees ... I only got once into such a massive snow shower – lucky enough i had put back my camera in the bag ...
