If you are still being affected by women's issues, you have every right to talk about them and identify with them. If the state is trying to criminalize your transition and force you into being a woman, you have every right to detest that. If you have a uterus and a vagina and are affected by things that...affect a uterus and a vagina...you can talk about and identify with those things. It's not a crime. It's not harmful.

Start looking at how you talk about yourself and how you make others feel less from a Twitter-intellectual-discourse perspective...and more in a realistic, material way that allows you to reflect and look at things objectively while still being sensitive to others' criticisms. I don't believe that because a criticism or discomfort exists, that this means you should become smaller and should compromise things about yourself. I don't believe that my ability to talk about myself and identify something that happened to me is dependent on whether another demographic does it as much as me (referring to the question of "why trans women don't id with manhood like trans men id with womanhood").

I always get confused by these types and their variants, making fun of "heckin valid" trans people because y'all are the same people to me in different fonts and outcomes (one actually fosters community, the other just doomposts in their rooms all day). I think it's very funny to mock people who actively identify with contradictory labels that almost always guarantee them harassment from all sides, not just cishet society, for caring too much about being valid. If anything, that type of person does not care about seeming valid by society ENOUGH.

I have seen more tru transsexuals dedicate their time whining about how no one validates them or sees them as their true identity than Tumblr queers, ngl. The difference between you and them is that validity is seen as something you give yourself and not something you have to grope at society's pants for every five seconds.

That one person who said a lot of trans people view analysing trans oppression as another way to affirm our genders was so correct. Like, unfortunately, as we try to gain liberation, that does come with the harsh fact that most people still view tme trans people as women and want to keep them as women. Part of that is being vulnerable and realizing that a lot of trans men, no matter how binary and transsexual they are, gain a lot in allying with women and vice versa because they are still affected by women's issues. More often than not, even more than cis women.

But a frequent reply that I notice certain internally hateful trans men make in response to us acknowledging that trans issues of all categories and targets are a feminist issue and concern and often intersect with womens, regardless of whether those are our actual genders or not, is this: "Okay, but why do we have to care about this? Why do we have to say it?". and that's because acknowledging that a lot of trans men are still affected by misogyny on a systematic level that goes beyond whether we are passing or not is very dysphoric for them. Not to be harsh, but when it comes down to being liberated or assimilating while we dissociate from many other trans people's lived realities, I'm not choosing the latter.

If you cannot handle hearing certain things still affect trans men (reproductive rights, gynecology, abortion, etc.), that is completely fine. I encourage you to keep refusing to talk about this as the uninvolved and unaffected TRU binary trans man you are. But I'm gonna tell you to shut the fuck up when we are having important conversations that require us to stop just thinking about what makes us feel good about our genders because for a lot of us that means life and death.

A lot of people are aware that being called a transmisogynist can be scary, so they weaponize it frequently against the people they want to silence. Stop policing yourself and your tone when the same people are coming up with infinite slurs that make fun of you for your genitals, struggles, and entire existence. Today I demand we get over that feeling and instead encourage actual reflection and taking time away to look at the criticisms you're receiving objectively and away from social media's culture of dogpiling and virtue signaling. What I'm suggesting is not an echo chamber where we ignore criticism, but instead a culture where we have more of a backbone. No more acting like a doormat or people-pleasing. It's lame asf.
