The Dance of Devotion
Listen, Iâll NEVER get over the fact that, while Crowley is having the time of his life, being a little bitch and breathing fire at the Archangels, Aziraphale makes sure that both Hell and Heaven know not to mess with Crowley in the future. He ensures that, at the very least, Crowley will be safe from their head offices.
And itâs just such an act of love to me, a reminder that all Aziraphale has ever wanted is for Crowley to be safe, to keep him from being hurt or discorporated or, worse, destroyed. And now he gets to make that a reality himself.
It just makes me so fucking emotional, yâall, Iâm too gay to be dealing with Principality Aziraphale protecting his demon, okay?
I don't understand it. I doubt I ever will. How do you see happiness here? How do you look at our angel and not see how devastated he is? How do you reconcile this heart breaking before your eyes to claim this is a happy ending? And please think before you come at with me with "not being able to be together is part of why they chose to allow their universe to end, so that they would be free to love each other." How exactly did they choose that, then? With all that big juicy free will they don't have? At best. At the very best. Crowley has just given up. And because of that, this time, he says what he thinks Aziraphale wants to hear - "I choose the world." At worst, Crowley has just given up. And because of that, this time, he says "I don't choose you." Either way, Aziraphale hears both, loud and clear. Either way, GO3 Crowley is willing to sacrifice Aziraphale for a hypothetical. Which neither S1, S2, or Book Crowley would have ever considered in the realm of possibility. This isn't character development. This isn't a role reversal. This isn't selfless love. This is characters being written into a corner and the universe being written into oblivion.
If this is what you think a loving relationship looks like, perhaps it's time to consider gaining some Psychoanalytic and Interpersonal Literacy. And I concede. GO3 was indeed a Cosmic Horror. Because the ending of Crowley and Aziraphale and all of the fantasy and light and magic of the Good Omens Universe was truly, astoundingly, horrific. But hey, at least we got the real world out of it. The one that all of Crowley and Aziraphale's love and molecules are made of. There's a little Aziraphale and Crowley in you, and me, in dolphins, and dinosaurs, in sunsets, in Hitler, syphilis, PCP, PFOAs, diet coke - a list of endless wonders.
Yeah. Aziraphale tried his best and the story tells us it wasn't enough. And I am supposed to like this?
He looks so heartbroken at the end there but basically throughout the whole film. The angel, my angel who is full of joy and hope and whimsy and silliness. We are told heâs not enough. He is told heâs not enough.
It wouldn't have been enough even if he stayed after S2 because they would have died or worse anyway. But still. He is the bad one and he can't apologise enough and he can never have Crowley. Or deserve him.
S3 decides that the world they live in is unredeemable anyway and with that, so is everything they are and everything that happened in the world before.
How can the writers call this a love story with a straight face and then kill the lovers who never got to kiss or hold one another. Or even feel understood.
None of the themes of S3 make sense, none of the plotlines. And the relationship between Aziraphale and Crowley. The driving force of the fansâ love, least of all.
This scene. And the moment where again, Aziraphale turns away to hide his pain from Crowley. Except this time the audience sees it. We see the moment he breaks and then tries to hide it. This time, he hardly manages to pull himself together and it's only again to try to comfort Crowley. Not to make him worry about making the wrong choice. Even though you can see it's broken him.
I cannot look at that moment because it makes my blood go cold and my extremities sink into a pit. It's like seeing my favourite... Well, it's like seeing Aziraphale broken. I never wanted that and never expected it of the promised happy ending for Good Omens. You know, the one where they retire together to the South Downs... Instead we see every single character trample the Angel who tried to save everyone and fix things so they could work. He, who developed techniques to fix human inventions, help the needy, and created a safe haven of a world for everyone to live without hate. At the very least on Whickber Street. He, who did so much and got no fucking recognition for it, let alone thanks, from the characters, the writing, or anything, has to take deep breaths and not solve this problem that clearly had resolutions available. He has to pretend one more time that he's fine, actually, with the injustice and pain he's feeling.
Aziraphale is joy and hope when there is none. He is a beacon of it people can rely on, and yet here in this entire episode, you must constantly see him being snuffed until eventually he accepts death. I reject it.

There is no way anyone can look at this expression, and say that this is the face of someone who wanted to give up his life for the âreal universeâ.
Like, I just canât stop thinking about the fact Aziraphale got coerced by God into commiting suicide.
This is a sad, needlesly cruel and tragic end to someone who lived in fear of a corrupted system his whole life. And to tell him at the end ,that there was no way you wouldâve let him have the love of the only person that ever truly mattered, and that you always saw him as less is so incredably bleak, and depressing.
wait, do people know about aziraphale and crowleyâs new yearâs resolutions
at some point neil gaiman and terry pratchett wrote these up and theyâre very good
Crowley:
Resolution #1: I must accept that Super-Gluing valuable coins to the sidewalk and then watching events from a nearby cafĂŠ is not proper demonic activity.
Resolution #2: The same applies to rearranging the letters on wayside pulpits.
Resolution #3: Try to come up with something as good as cell phone ringtones, following one last stab at convincing Downstairs that cell phone ringtones are right up there in the whole Human Misery stakes. And iPods. Has anybody Down There even said thank you for iPods? Or âGoogling yourself?â Frankly, I deserve some kind of award for âGoogling yourself.â
Resolution #4: I must encourage greedy people to use the term, âLow-hanging fruit,â because thatâs just like old times.
Resolution #5: This year, I will get a desk near the window.
Resolution #6: I will try to understand why Hell is a no-smoking area. I just think itâs ridiculous having to stand around outside the gates, thatâs all.
Resolution #7: On the orders of Head Office I will encourage the belief in Intelligent Design, because it upsets everyone.
Resolution #8: Stop Googling myself.
Aziraphale:
Resolution #1: Spread peace and love and glad tidings of great joy throughout the world. Also try to get out more.
Resolution #2: I will be charitable to people who use the term âcore values,â however difficult this may be.
Resolution #3: Notwithstanding Resolution #2 (above), I will redouble my efforts to have the utterance of the phrase âcore valuesâ classified as a deadly sin. I believe Himself is with me on this one.
Resolution #4: I will try to be nicer to the customers. They want to buy books; I want to sell them. It canât be that hard. (Memo to self: Regular opening hours? Mark prices on books?)
Resolution #5: I will try to be polite to Gabriel, no matter what the provocation.
Resolution #6: Find out exactly what an âInternetâ is.
Resolution #7: Really must resume dancing lessons. Learn the âGalloping Major,â the âGay Gordons,â the âMashed Potatoes.â Possibly even the âTwistâ?
Resolution #8: Thwart Infernal Wiles (ongoing).
Resolution #9: I will try to understand why Heaven is a non-smoking area.
Resolution #10: On the orders of Head Office I will encourage the belief in Intelligent Design â despite the fact that the human airway crosses the digestive tract. Who thought that was intelligent?
Resolution #11: Feed the ducks.

good omens heritage post
âYou were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.
Ezekiel 28:14
đHi!
This is my canon ending. I decided so.
đ Bye!
What does Nina do when Shax starts dragging Maggie through the mud?
Nina: "She's not embarrassing herself, she's- she's braver than anyone I know."
She stands up for her. She tries to protect her, refuses to let someone talk about Maggie like that. She doesn't just stand there and watch, she does whatever she can to defend her, even though she's a regular human being and these creatures threatening her, Maggie, and Mr. Fell are very clearly not.
And what does Crowley do when God starts dragging Aziraphale through the mud?
What. The. Hell. Is. That.
He just... shifts his gaze from God to Aziraphale with this cold... expectation and... indifference? This dark, detached look? Aziraphale is obviously hurt by what's being said, and Crowley just... stands there, leaning against that damned bookshop pillar, looking at him as if he deserves to hear it. Like, "Well? What do you have to say to that?"
It just gets under my skin. It's unbearable. It's revolting.
That is NOT Crowley.
Crowley would NOT stand by while someone said things like that about his angel right in front of him.
This is NOT the Crowley who, when he thought Aziraphale had died for good, lost every shred of hope and every desire to save the world, and instead went off to get drunk because, without Aziraphale, he saw no point in enjoying Earth or any of its little pleasures.
Aziraphale is the most important person in his life. The person closest to him. Crowley has risked his own life for him over and over again. He is his first, only, and best friend. His light, his hope, his love.
Just being around Aziraphale always lifts his spirits, even when he's irritated or upset.
Aziraphale means the world to him.
And when Crowley played Aziraphale at the end of Season 1, he portrayed him exactly the way he sees him: brave, courageous, smiling even in the face of danger and death, compassionate, forgiving, and full of faith.
Crowley sees the best parts of Aziraphale: his courage, his resilience, his unwavering commitment to his principles even when it threatens his own existence or well-being; his faith in something better; his ability to find light in the deepest darkness; his ability to smile at people who, for centuries, have treated him terribly.
And the fact that Crowley reacts to God's words about his angel with such coldness and indifference...
It destroys me.
I don't know who you are, or why the hell you look like our Crowley.
And let's not forget that throughout most of Season 2 he relentlessly bullied Gabriel and practically drove him toward a window just because Gabriel once told his only friend to shut up and die.
Just saying.

im so sorry but i feel like some of us are sleeping on the âwhy give me crowley, why make me complete and then take it awayâ line a bit too much cause aziraphale said that to god ?? in her face ??
an angel, whose purpose is to serve and devote themselves to god, who canât love anything more than them. an angel saying that he feels complete not only by another being (which is already huge) but by a demon !!!
i canât imagine a greater love confession, not from aziraphale, who always triedâeven forced himselfâto have faith in godâs plan and intentions, to serve her blindly and to be on her side and her side only.
aziraphale, who barely dared to speak to her when asked, now standing his ground at the boundaries of a universe that already ceased to exist, with nothing left to lose, and nothing left to fight for. speaking up for himself, blaming god for his own misery, for creating someone so perfect for him but never letting him live that love openly and freely. they spent 6000 years dancing around each other, pretending they werenât an us, because he couldnât go against the ineffable plan, against his purpose as an angel, against god. meanwhile, god didnât care at all.
and now here they are, god, satan, aziraphale and his other half, one step away from eternal nothingness, from complete and cruel erasure. and here he is, this angel who in his lordâs face confesses his love and devotion to the one who actually inspired him, who showed him what pure kindness and selfless, unconditional and stubborn love really look like. not the almighty herself, but crowley. the best of godâs angels according to aziraphale, and probably the one who was hurt by her the most.
crowley completes aziraphale, he makes him feel whole. and in the end, crowley is the one aziraphale chose

Good Omens 3x01 The Finale
We notice: General Aziraphale is wearing a kiltânaturally in a tartan patternâand ties a small bow while tending to his enemy's wounds.
Tartan. And a little bow on his enemy's leg. Honestly, the whole thing is simply unfathomable. â¤ď¸âđĽđđ
Just look at Prof. Anthony Crowley. He is completely captivatedâutterly seduced by the sweet bookseller Asa Fell. He is already head over heels in love. đĽ°đ¤ŠđĽ°
