Played good Samaritan today .. a woman with a stroller came up to me and asked for money to buy milk for her baby (baby seemed like 1 year at most) and after a bit back and forth with my conscience I gave her 20€ (man baby formula is expensive)

The cynic in me is like "What if she didn't actually need that money? what if she uses it for something else?"

But like.. I don't like children, I won't have any my self EVER. But there is a woman with a child in need. And I don't know but I can imagine that nobody begs because they chose to do that, because they want to do that.

Also it's a 20... a 20 doesn't hurt me, I don't have to turn over every cent because my job is relatively well paying and I'm otherwise pretty frugal anyways. Like that 20 means little to me but it helps that mother and child

Hello, tumblr! I saw something on here the other day that worried me, so I decided to Do Science about it. But I can't do it alone: I need your help to build the dataset!

I am hoping to collect several thousand such posts, so that I have a decent sized dataset. I do not care what the post is about; if it's labeled as "mature content", I want to add it to my dataset.

If I get 10,000 posts in my dataset before August 31st 2026, I will post my preliminary findings then. I won't feel comfortable calling my findings "settled" before 2027, unless I get over 50,000 posts.
