the prophecy never names bob, just one who ‘despairs for refusing to remain.’ to refuse to remain would be to leave, but bob stayed in tartarus, for percy and annabeth.

it was talking about the way bob refused to remain as iapetus, but all i could think about was another titan who refused to remain. who left her prison. and who did the very thing nyx detests:

she changed.

calypso was perfectly placed at band camp, without any mythological protection, over the time nyx kidnapped a titan.

“there leave something of equal value behind” would have been the first moment when calypso wasn’t just another hero’s sacrifice.

something would have been sacrificed for her.

while i hate about her personality change between botl and hoh, i like to believe it was a trauma response. a wall of pain built up for protection.

we would have seen her and leo realise their relationship was built upon desperation. realise that they saw what they wanted to see, not who the other really was.

we would have seen her find a home. and with it, the safety to be herself again.

they have matching blue friendship bracelets. they blast alt rock from her cave at 3am. and they practically own the skatepark at this point.

annabeth is completely chill with it, because percy loves her. they’re in a mature relationship. and she trusts him. wholeheartedly.

and percy has to put up with piper only half ironically flirting with his gf daily, so it’s the least annabeth can do

magnus chase who was brought with his friends to chb for a quest.

the healers who began to talk in the infirmary. about their mythologies. about star wars and about dr who. about their friends.

about hearthstone.

turns out it’s this language learning thing, but this isn’t common knowledge, and it raises 2 possibilities:

multi-lingual sadie, who knows what it’s like to be isolated. to be different. who decided to learn different languages to communicate with those who don’t speak a lot of english. if she can make them feel a little less pushed out, then it’s worth it.

or we have coder sadie, who spends her lunch breaks hiding in the computer room, analysing codes. hyper-fixated on her latest project. who hates the cards she’s been dealt, and is in love with the way she can create a world of her own.

one run by her own rules.

maybe she's walking home from school. tired of feeling different. tired of grieving. she stops and sits by the obelisk. sits in the exact spot her mum died.
