She was correct; Greta's efforts were very good. So he joined her, satisfied by his decision to abandon the wedding crowd in favour of sustenance. As she spoke, he observed her, absently musing on how he recalled her as a teenager; scrawny, not worth admiring, and blind to anything except Quidditch. It was remarkable how people could change - for the better, it seemed.
"I think my Quidditch days are over, Emma. But I will live them vicariously through you and the League." He'd never been a proficient player, and neither was he the best at flying. Apparition or floo were far preferable modes of transport - quicker and easier. But he enjoyed the sport from afar, nonetheless. "I remember you were always absorbed by Quidditch. I'm glad you made it your career. It's rare for a dream to become reality. Tell me, how are your brothers, these days?"
Emma supposed she was enjoying herself. Rabastan wasn't that bad company, even if they hadn't seen each other for a while. They hadn't really talked that much in the past either. Emma just remembered him being good friends with her brothers. She hadn't paid too much attention to him really. She supposed he didn't look too bad. But she wasn't single, so she wasn't exactly looking.
"Boring." The brunette teased with a little smirk. She found anyone that didn't want to play quidditch boring. But really, not everyone could play. "There are recreational teams you know" So everyone could play if they really wanted. "I was determined it would happen." She was. And she had always been quite a determined person. "And it paid off." She was very happy about it. "Oh. They are great. Probably around here somewhere"
Regulus took Emma’s hand and guided her a little bit further away from the stage. He made sure they were still in sight, but far enough away from the speakers that they could speak without having to scream at each other. “Yeah, yeah, busy, busy.” Regulus replied in jest, rolling his eyes as he placed his hands on Emma’s waist. “Now that you’re famous you’ve forgotten about the little guys, hmm?” He asked, still teasing as he lead their dance. “Don’t forget that I held your hair back for you as you threw up off the astronomy tower… Multiple times! I think that warrants a visit every now and again.” Laughing, the two of them turned on the beat, and he nodded his head towards the band. “Who’s the girl you’re making googly eyes over?”
Regulus was one of her best friends. She was glad he was here. He would make it all a little more bearable. Of course, she should love these kind of things, but she probably would've preferred to be at the party Kitty had mentioned before. As they got into a dancing rhythm Emma laughed. "And who was the one that had supplied the goods that got me so sick" She teased, a little grin on her face. Those had been good times. She missed them. Emma turned her head slightly, so she could glance at Kitty. "Oh that's Kitty." She murmured, turning her attention back to Regulus. "My girlfriend."
Kitty laughed freely at her words - it was boring, wasn't it? Sure, she always liked playing, no matter what, but she wouldn't be sad to see this particular gig end. Especially not if it ended in spending more time with Emma.
"I'm only paid through eleven." She answered softly, not wanting to air her and the Malfoys business to any eavesdroppers. "I'll be ready to hit the ground running at ten after." Kitty smirked, not needing to stay a second longer. A thought struck her at her words and she turned to appraise her date. "Did you want to dance? There's still another couple songs from the DJ before I have to go back."
To be honest if Kitty had said that she was ready to go now, Emma would have ditched the wedding reception to go party with her. Whilst some part of her knew she should spend time with her peers, she really did not want too. Why would she went she knew the party else where was much more up her street. But for now, they would stay here.
"Perfect." The brunette murmured with a little grin. "Then we can go actually enjoy our selves." Whilst she had grown up at events like this, she had always thought they were stuffy. And well, she didn't like them too much. If she ever got married she would not be having a big fancy affair like this. "Ooooh" Emma's eyes lit up at Kittys next words. "I would love to dance."
Taking her advice, he studied the selection on offer close to where they stood. "She must be," he agreed, making his choice and turning back to her, plate of cheese now firmly in hand. "I've only heard good things, which is quite remarkable considering how these events spread gossip and criticism quicker than wildfire."
The amount of tales he'd heard so far would set Skeeter's tongue wagging like never before. Vaguely he wondered if she were here, skulking around like a phantom waiting for unsuspecting victims. Probably.
"I saw you were featured in Quidditch Weekly, recently. How is life in the professional Quidditch world, these days?" Picking a sample from his plate, he added offhandedly, "Merlin knows when I last played. Probably at Hogwarts."
"Trust me." Which of course was hard when they barely knew each other. But Emma had tasted a lot of Greta's cheese, and so she felt like she was pretty confident in her view point. "I suppose that is true." The brunette murmured with a laugh. It was part of the reason why she did hate these kind of thing sometimes. She really could not stand gossip that much. Not when it was mean, and just people bitching about each other. Maybe that was why she preferred the company of Kiity, and Greta, and others like them.
"Oh yes." Not for the first time. She'd been in a couple of magazines recently. It was part of the job. But it wasn't why she did what she did. Emma loved quidditch, and would only stay playing if she continued to enjoy it. "It's lovely. I adore it." And she really could not imagine not playing. "You should play some time. It's great"

While Elodie was occupied speaking with a friend of hers, Regulus excused himself to the other room. He'd caught a glimpse of Emma while the two of them were making their rounds and wanted to make sure he took some time out of his night to see her. It seemed as though both of them had so much going on in their lives recently that they hadn't had a proper chance to talk with each other in quite some time.
"May I have this dance?" Regulus asked, holding out a hand to Emma, who was standing so close to the band it was quite difficult to hear. He couldn't help but to notice her eyes glued to the lead singer, and he made a note to make sure he asked her about it. "I've missed you, buddy, why don't you ever come see me?" @emmavanityx
Emma had always enjoyed weddings. Of course, that was mostly because it was not her wedding. She was sad though that her date was actually having to work though. She would have loved nothing more than to dance the night away with Kitty. But she supposed, if she could not do that, listening to her was the next best thing. Of course, maybe she shouldn't have been standing so close, but it gave her a good view of her girlfriend.
As she heard a familiar voice she glanced to the side, and smiled as she realised it was Regulus. "Reggie." She beamed, as she turned away from her view of Kitty, and took his hand. "I'm a busy quidditch player darling, I'm busy these days."
Kitty smiled warmly at her. "I surely hope not." She hummed softly at the sentiment, being stuck with Emma didn't seem like a bad thing to her at all. Quite the opposite, actually.
As Emma scooted closer, Kitty wrapped an arm around her shoulders in a loose hug, her chin on her shoulder as she draped herself over Emma. "Mmm, my muse." She murmured in her ear, smiling. "I heard there's a big party at Daisy's - would you want to go when we're done here? Have me all to yourself. "
Emma knew it was a slightly dangerous game that they were playing. Whilst she was pretty confident there was no paparazzi that would get their photo in the prophet, she knew the pureblood Mama's were around, and sometimes their gossip was worse. But she couldn't keep her hands off of Kitty.
She sighed contently, closing her eyes as she just enjoyed being close to her. Kitty had been too far away for much of the day and evening. And she just did not like it. She smiled at her words. It was nice being someone's muse, but she didn't quite know how to respond to her. She opened her eyes at the next words, and just smirked at Kitty. "I'll never say no to an opportunity to dance with you. Like our dancing, not this boring stuff." She mused, waving her hand over to the dance floor. "When do you finish?" Emma had no problems ditching the party whenever Kitty finished.
Having escaped his parents, Rabastan found a moment's peace in the refreshment pavilion. He was not sure where Alecto had disappeared to, though he did vaguely hope she hadn't taken his suggestion to cause mayhem seriously. It would undeniably liven up the proceedings and he would revel in the horror on his parents' faces. But he did not want to sully Cissa's day. She had waited long enough for it.
As he approached Greta's area, he was distracted by the sight of Emma. They had reacquainted briefly at the Quidditch World Cup, and while he was familiar with her older brothers, he did not know her well at all. It simply struck him that she had grown unexpectedly into something charming; no longer a teenage girl obsessed with Quidditch, but now an attractive and accomplished witch.
"Hello, Emma." Pausing beside her, he swept his eyes briefly over her appearance, before raising them back to meet hers. His smile was pleasant, laced with subtle satisfaction. "How lovely to see you again. Is the cheese any good?" He gestured blithely to her plate, faintly amused by the question, before pausing a passing waiter and taking two glasses of something sparkling and alcoholic. Passing one to her, he raised the other to his lips and took a generous sip.
The cheese was good. But Emma had already known that before she had even picked up any. She had problem eaten her body weight in cheese over the time that she had known Greta. And she had yet to find anyone else who made better cheese. And so, there was a happy little smile on her face as she took a bite of the cheese. It was good. It almost made her date abandoning her for most of the wedding tolerable. Of course, she didn't blame Kitty, although she hoped the next wedding that she needed to attend they could both just be guests.
She looked up as she heard a familiar voice, and she smiled as she realised that it was Rabastan. "Hello Rabastan." She murmured, the smile still on her lips. They had seen each other at the quidditch world cup. She didn't miss him glancing over her appearance, but she didn't pay that any attention. She wasn't in the market for a lover after all. "The cheese is perfect." She murmured, as she took the glass of him, and took a sip.
"You should try some. It is simply Divine. Greta is great at what she does."

Kitty breathed a playful sigh of relief at her words, although she didn't fear Emma would find someone else tonight. She placed her hand on Emma's knee delicately as she knocked their legs together, giving her a gentle squeeze.
"Thank you." She leaned in and kissed her cheek. "Between you and me, I am tired of playing covers." She took Emma's glass, taking a sip with a small sigh. "I do like the harp, though." Kitty glanced back up at the instrument she had learned for the wedding. "How about you? Have you been having fun?"
"Did you really think I would replace you darling?" Emma asked, raising an eyebrow as she looked at Kitty. Whilst Emma knew she could have the pick of the suitors, she also knew a lot of people would go crazy to date one of the Weird Sisters. Emma felt very lucky. "You're stuck with me Kitty."
Emma genuinely adored listening to Kitty and the band play. She often would come to the rehearsals when she could. There was just something that was lovely about getting to watch her love do something she was passionate about. "Your stuff does sound a lot better." She mused, shifting her chair closer to Kitty's so that she could lean against her. She was just sad they couldn't hang out more now, but hopefully the wedding would be over sooner rather than later. "You gonna compose me a harp song? So romantic" She teased, a little smirk on her lips. "It's okay." She mused with a shrug. "A little lonely without my favourite lady."
Where: The Malfoy Wedding Reception
When: Around 8pm
Who: Emma and Rabastan ( @r-lestrxnge )
Even though her date was otherwise engaged in being the main form of entertainment, Emma was having a pretty great time at the wedding. She'd spent some time with her parents, and mingled with the people they wanted to talk to. And now, she was looking for someone more interesting to talk to. After all, she hadn't come here just to mingle with the people her father thought was important. Mostly, because she didn't actually think that they were important.
But first she was going to make a beeline for some food. She'd heard some people raving about some cheese, and well, she did like some cheese. She'd actually spotted a familiar face when she'd gotten to the cheese stand, and she'd spent a few moments talking to Greta, before taking a little plate and stepping away.
Now, she was enjoying her cheese, and it was pretty perfect. Minus her gorgeous date still being on the stage, but she could cope without her for now.
Kitty loved weddings - it was why she had agreed to begin with, and why she'd learned a new instrument just for Narcissa to walk down the aisle to. But it was a very different experience to play at one than to attend. Still, she was enjoying herself - although she had seen far less of her date than she would have liked.
However, she managed to take a break and let the DJ take over and made a bee line for her and Emma's table. She gave her a kiss on the cheek as she sat, perched on the chair next to her. "Please tell me you haven't ditched me for a better date."

Emma loved a good wedding, and the Malfoy one was set to be the wedding of the century. Of course, she would have preferred that her date wasn't up on the stage so much. But Emma also loved watched Kitty play, even if she wasn't playing much of her usual stuff. She was still hopeful that she might get a little dance with Kitty though. This as the first time the pair were out together so publicly, and she was just hoping it would go well.
"Hey you." She murmured, a smile coming onto her lips as Kitty came to sit next to her. She twisted in her seat a little so that she could face the other better. "A better date? I can't do better when I already have the best." She knocked her knees against Kitty's, and then just smiled. "You look so good up there babe."

Where: Emma's flat
When: Around 8pm
Who: Emma and Kitty ( @weirdxkitty )
It had been a long day. Emma adored being a quidditch player. But even with how physically fit she was, practice could be hard. Of course, it was all worth it when they won. Though Emma often was exhausted by the end of the sessions. Tonight's had gone on late. Some of the other girls were going out, and Emma usually would go to, but she just needed time to rest. So, she'd waved her team mates off, before heading home. She was feeling that tired that she had skipped having a shower at home, and so was going to do that at home.
Apart from when she walked into her apartment, dumping her bag on the floor, and headed on in towards the shower she walked into her almost girlfriend sat on her couch.
"You're kidding me. The one time I'm a sweaty mess."
where: a cafe in diagon alley who: open
It was rare to get sunshine in London, leading the author to find herself sat at one of the cafe's on the outside patio. Parchment in front of her and a quill in hand, she started to write down her thoughts, adding more to her book that was in the works. This would be one of her best ones, easily selling out more than the first did.
It was a shadow that cast in front of her that caught her attention. "You are blocking my sunshine." She spoke bluntly, shifting her gaze up to discover who would do such a crime.
It was a rare day off for the quidditch player today, and so Emma had decided to venture out into Diagon Alley. She was hoping that it was not going to be overly busy. She couldn't stand crowds. At least , not when she was in the middle of them anyway. But, she fancied a little bit of lunch, and so she was walking over to the café. She'd paused to read the menu that was above the window when a voice interrupted her.
"Oh. Sorry." She murmured, taking a step to the side so she was out of the way. "Looing at the menu"
