One minute you start dating someone, the next month is Valentine’s Day, the next month there’s a pandemic and you basically move in with him, in the same two weeks you have to move out of your apartment in NJ into another one and he’s helping and meeting Tessa for the first time. It has been a wild ride and we’re not even at month three. We’re convinced if we can make it through all of this we’re making it through anything.

Saturday run. 10 miles. 8:59 pace. Only problem is that I don’t even know if my race is happening anymore but I’ll know more this week.

I think I started this when Tessa was 1-2 years old. And here we are now! She had her first dance competition yesterday and absolutely killed it. All three of her dances won awards, including the dance she did in the sequined outfit that won best overall for the day and her studio won top studio of the day. I am SO proud of my baby, but when did she get so big?!

Updates from my life: I’m running the 2020 New York City marathon.

Just a quick update! Still commuting between NJ & CT, but I only work 20 hours a week right now Tuesday-Friday so I’m home in NJ living my best life with Tessa more. I’m training for a half marathon, and actually training, the first week in April and I’m running at paces I haven’t been for over two years. Somehow, in between all of the craziness, I found a boyfriend. A guy I had in my head that I wanted, and somehow I found him but even better. So, nothing to complain about at all, life couldn’t be better right now.

A few fall work outfits and fresh blonde from Saturday’s hair appointment! I will do a life update soon. Any questions before I get to that in the next few days?

Morning workout! 21/100 for my 100 sweaty sweats challenge. Two miles on the treadmill and shoulders. I never train one muscle group at a time anymore and it killed me. Then I made the mistake of getting on the scale for the first time in a month this morning. Here is your reminder that the scale does not define you or your progress. It hasn’t moved, at all. I actually show a gain of a pound, but my clothes fit so much better and I feel amazing. So no more scale for me.

Surprise! I ran a half marathon on Sunday. One I signed up for on Wednesday. That I didn’t train for at all. I saw an add for a race in my city on Sunday and I don’t know what pushed me to sign up for it, but when I decide I’m doing something there is no stopping me. I think ultimately, with being in such a rut since i moved and now being back into working out, I wanted to prove I could do it. I didn’t do this race for time at all, my only goal was to finish and considering I haven’t run more than 4-5 miles in a couple years I’m not too upset with the results. I did run the full 13, but I had my running app set to biking for the first part of it. Then Monday I had off and got back on my bike! It was so beautiful out, albeit windy. The first 15 miles felt great, but coming back against the wind was one of the more difficult rides I’ve had, especially the day after my race.

A quick update! Still riding my bike as much as I can when I go home. Still going to F45 4-5 times a week. Still wearing summer dresses to work because it’s been 80°. What’s new? I’m running again! Or at least did one treadmill run. I have run, but felt in a rut and was doing mostly sprint intervals. This run was intentional. It was to see where I was at so I could officially start running again-as long as my health holds up-so I can train for a spring half! I’ve been feeling super motivated lately, so I hope it holds up. Also, second date outfit. I put dating on hold for a little bit, but i am back and went out again with someone last night, who ironically is named josh. We have tentative plans for next week too, and I’m cautiously optimistic. First date we met for drinks. Last night we went to dinner near where he lives and then had a drink at his house and I can’t say anything yet other than he seems pretty perfect.

You didn’t think I’d get out of the Lilly Pulitzer sale with just one thing did you? But! I still only ended up with two. Like I said, I haven’t loved what they’ve been putting out and I can only wear so many dresses. If it’s not obvious by my work outfit posts, I have so much already and most of my dresses only get worn once or twice a season. This sale I was more practical than I’ve ever been with a sweater and a popover, which I can wear to work or this one on the weekends/after work when it’s cooler and this being my first fall/winter in CT-I’ll need more of those type of outfits! I never really put much thought into CT being much colder than NJ but I was wrong.

What have I been up to? Keeping myself busy! I bought a new beach cruiser and have been on it every chance I get when I’m home in NJ, which has been a lot lately. I found a love for my new gym in CT and trying out orange theory, and I look forward to waking up without a hangover and starting my days moving. There was awhile I was struggling. I was happy, I always am. I have the best job, great friends in NJ, a family who I want to spend all my time with when I’m home, but I was in a rut with the gym and hadn’t found one I loved in CT and it was killing me. I was drinking too much with my room mate and his friends (reasons I could never date a golf pro) and that was making it worse. When I went to Vegas my cousin and her best friend inspired me to try F45. At first there were mornings I signed up for class and missed it because I stayed up too late the night before, but now here we are-it’s my favorite part of the day and I even am dropping in to the local gym in NJ. I also rejoined weight watchers, which I loosely follow. This is my first time living away from home with a room mate and now I understand the freshmen 15. I weighed in on September 3 at 167 and as of my Saturday morning weigh in I was 161.2. I don’t put too much into the scale, because I’m still a size s/6 in most of my clothes, but I felt terrible. Always bloated, and I knew if I kept going none of my clothes from last season would fit, so weighing in once a week keeps me accountable. All in all, I couldn’t be better right now and it feels so good.

It’s Lilly Pulitzer sale day! Usually twice a year I’ll post everything I purchased, but here it is-just one item this sale. I haven’t loved the recent prints/styles so I haven’t purchased anything full price and I couldn’t even give in for the sale. I know they’ll release more items tomorrow morning, so I’ll check back then, but I doubt it’ll be much different.

Some days are harder than others. Today is one of the harder ones. I’ve made it a routine when I wake up every morning to look at timehop and my Snapchat memories for the day. There’s so many old photos of Tessa, or memories of nights out with friends and family and it generally starts my day on the right foot. But days like today, this day last year josh came over before work, I rode 13 miles after he left before I went in, was reminded I used to leave notes like this, and that night he came out to do dinner and drinks with my best friend and her fiancé. And I miss all of that so much, I’d do anything to go back to that. Instead I am moving on with my day. I started with a 6:15am F45 class, will get my nails done after work, and am heading to trivia with pat and a couple friends. That’s the only thing I can do at this point...just keep going in the most positive direction possible.

Of course my outfits for some reason were left off the last post, so here I am again.

First week of August work outfits! This week was slightly different than my usual week. I’ve been in such a rut with no motivation to workout, and it’s been weighing on me. I’ve gained a few pounds and that isn’t what bothers me-it’s how I feel. I was debating on joining either orange theory or F45, and last weekend I was in Vegas with my cousin and her friend who both do it. Monday when I got back I went right after work and made it 4 days this week! My classes are booked for next week and I feel so much better already. I’m also buying a new bike tomorrow when I go home to New Jersey so I can start riding again in the mornings. But yes, my work outfits. The pink bow tank top was more purple in person to go with my pants, not as much a red pink. The white dress I’m wearing today, ironically enough, according to Timehop is the same dress I wore on this day last year. Considering I wear it twice, maybe three times a summer I thought it was funny.
