After a failed meet up with what she presumed to be a catfish of some sort, Cataleya figured to not let the day slip from her hands. The sun was out, clouds were barely blending into the bright blue sky, and she had secured a spot in the park that had just enough terrain to stay away from rambunctious characters - people and animals alike. At least that’s what she thought she’d get, as she placed her picnic blanket down and laid atop the argyle pattern. The warmth of the sun kissed her skin in ways that made her feel a form of joy she wasn’t used to, this was evident by the small smirk that crept up her lips. But all of that came crashing down when a shadow loomed over her. She opened her eyes to peek up at the bystander, their back turned to her set up. She leaned up on her elbows, chin tutted up in the air. “Excuse me, do you mind moving at least three steps to your right? You’re blocking the sun.”

When she finally finished up a meeting with the director and head writer for a new series the company was set to start pilot production on next week, Emine sent of the more imperative of emails needed, before being able to catch an actual breath. Only when she noted how the weather appeared perfect, did she decide on utilizing the time to further get reacquainted with the town. Strolling through McIntosh Park with no set course in mind, other than of course wherever the Doberman decided to pull her when he saw something of great interest to dart after. Stopping in one particular spot for a moment as he sniffed around, peering at a group playing soccer nearby when a voice rang through her ears. ❝ Hmm— ❞ Blue hues gaze down towards the woman as her request fully resonated, cheeks reddening sheepishly. ❝ Oh uh, yeah of course, sorry about that got kinda sidetracked and didn’t even see you, ❞ Stepping off to the side then, tugging Kovu’s leash gently as he curisouly got closer, unsure if she minded dogs or not. ❝ Though, being only 5′5 not sure how much of the sun I could really block out from reaching you. ❞  

Normally, Amy would have been fine getting lost in the myriad of twist and turns her day had to offer her. But today she couldn’t  help but feel a pit of anxiety welling up in her stomach. She’d dropped by to see her mother early in the morning, feeling hopeful when she had greeted her without missing a beat though that hope soon faltered when she saw some appliances weren’t plugged in properly, a tea kettle had been scorched, and there were miniscule and superficial cuts on her palms. When she managed to get what she needed to feel comfortable while she was away with the promise to return in the evening, she set off to meetings, appointments, and consultations all with the nagging feeling that she shouldn’t have left her alone, especially when this morning’s spell seemed worse off than it had been in weeks. But she managed to juggle her tasks and thankfully had a last minute therapy cancellation and soon found her way back to the docks with a warm meal and some flowers. She had done some studies about visualization and how it could help to keep the mind active even in the process of declining. She just hoped it would be enough for the time being before things go worse. “Anne? Neredesin?” The sound of her mother exclaiming her name in delight instantly gave her the grace to smile. Until she heard her say, “I can’t remember who’s here with me.” She trailed closer to where she could see her mother and beside her with piercing blue eyes was her sister. “Emi-” She began almost breathlessly. “Geri döndüğünü bilmiyordum.”

Her eyes had faltered some, instead glancing down at her hand which was still being gripped lightly onto by her mother’s. Despite if the woman had forgotten who exactly she was just a moment or two before, she took it as a sign that at least some part of her was still aware currently. She certainly wanted to hope so and not a case of also unrealizing it’d been there. ❝ Sürpriz. ❞ Finally speaking up in response to her sister, hardly audible form of a chuckle slipping through the Turkish lilt, tone far more subtle than the sort of thrilled exclamation one might expect from the word. ❝ I meant to call you, then things got kinda crazy between the move and changing jobs... so I was just gonna go see you after getting settled, ❞ Explaining through a slight jumble of words, but it had been the truth, Emine had all the intention to go by her sister’s though she hadn’t yet, in fairness only being back a short time thus far.

Attention then pulled when their mother spoke up again, directly to the other brunette in wondering confirmation to the fact that she was aware of who Emi had been. Shifting to turn towards her some more. ❝ Anne, benim Emine, hatırladın mı. Evde bir arı tarafından sokulduğum zamandan bahsediyorduk çünkü bütün o çiçekleri parktan getirdim. ❞ Looking in the woman’s eyes, she saw a mixture of familiarity and uncertainty. It took maybe a second or two but it seemed reminiscence had helped click into place the memory once again, allowing her to smile. ❝ Seninle vakit geçirmek çok güzeldi, yarın tekrar ziyarete geleceğim, tamam mı? ❞ Leaning down to press a kiss to her mother’s hand she got up from the sofa, peering at her older sister. ❝ I um, I can give you guys the room if you want, ❞ Keeping together a warm aura as best she could, though not waiting for an answer before she found herself heading off into the kitchen, needing a moment.

He smirked as Emine gave her extremely thorough run-down. Keeping a good poker face was part of the job, and from years of playing the card game, he had mastered the art. “He’s a new guy,” Haru informed her of the person struggling to get everybody’s order into the system. “Doesn’t mean he needs to keep saying it every five minutes, but…,” he chuckled to himself. Ninety percent of the job was to smile and be pleasant, the other ten percent was to make the damn drink. 

“So what is this, your sixth cup today?” he teased her as he watched the new guy leave a shot of espresso out for over a minute. Had he been on the clock, he would’ve tossed it and explained why he can’t leave it out that long, but instead he watched the customer finally pick it up, throw it back, and face contort at the taste. “If you tell me what you want now, I’ll go back and make it for you, free of charge.”

Nodding as her line of sight bounced between Haruto and said new guy, behind the counter. Briefly an empathetic expression took hold of her features, at least it looked like he was trying, despite fumbling the cups in hand a little. ❝ Probably not — don’t blame him for using it as a scapegoat through the little mistakes. Might just save him from the full wrath of Karens or wild coffee lovers. ❞ Though she’d never had to make coffee for a ton of people, during her time as a PA she had to take and get plenty of orders among other tasks, so to a point understood. 

The question caused a lighthearted roll of her eyes. ❝ No, my fourth.. actually maybe my fifth, either way you’re still wrong. ❞ Sticking her tongue out then jokingly, while finally moving up a spot in queue, any guess though to how long till she was next. Brows furrowing slightly confused at the offer that came with his following words. ❝ Wait really, you can just go back there and make it, like that ? ❞ Didn’t exactly seem like standard coffee shop policy, then again who would she be to really question it, especially if it meant getting her drink, generously, faster. ❝ Mocha latte, please. ❞

Dustin knew Emi. Kind of. They’d grown up around each other, crossing paths in the hallways at school, the occasional group project that was thrust upon them. But, that had been the extent of it, Dustin’s shyness keeping her in a corner of never really reaching out and connecting with people. It wasn’t until she’d started watching Emi’s stream that they’d really had a chance to connect. For Dustin, that had been easy. Chatting in the chat room, occasionally gaming together on mics, things that kept them at a distance, but still allowed them to become friendly. When she’d presented Dustin with the opportunity to hang out in person, though, the nerves had immediately spun up. Emine was cool, she was fun, all the things that Dustin was not, and she didn’t want to be a disappointment. Arriving a little (a lot) earlier than the time they’d agreed on, Dustin was back in a corner with her hands in her pockets waiting, bouncing nervously until she spotted the other woman coming in. Opening her mouth to respond, Dustin felt the familiar dryness there holding her back and it took her a moment to push the anxiety down enough to respond. “I ah - no, yeah it’s…totally cool uh. To see you in like person again,” she greeted, mustering up a smile in response. “I’m here once every week or two, so I…may have an advantage here. Any games that you’re dying to play? I already got us a bunch of tokens.” Dustin held up a cup filled to the brim with tokens for them to put to use, shaking it to let the coins clink together.

❝ You too of course, think the last time might’ve been — just after graduation, ❞ Pondering even to herself for just a moment, though it seemed the most probable. The two women had gone off to pursue vastly different majors in university, then Emine had moved away altogether. Though truth be told, regardless if they hadn’t been the closest of friends growing up, Dustin was one of a handful of people from the past she managed to keep contact with in any capacity over the years. ❝ And at least now we can catch up without thousands of others listening or watching in the room. ❞ Tacking on then with a warm smile, they’d been able to have conversation about some current events going on in life, not always easy though when your focus was also pulled in the direction of the current game being played, or a fast flowing chat. ❝ Well I do like a good challenge, though if you do annihilate me, guess that means I’ll be handing over the reins to my streaming rights. ❞ Words falling in a playful manner, chuckling as her vision trails to the overfilled cup of coins. ❝ Nice, um— ❞ Eyes then dart around the variety of arcade machines as they stepped further in, humming in thought, spotting one that caught her attention. ❝ Oo, how about Mortal Kombat 2, and do you have a preference between Jade or Mileena. Either would be my usual pick, but I’m not too particular about which. ❞

Being back within the walls of a house that had been — and still always would be in truth — home growing up, came with an air of obvious familiarity, yet foreign at the time. Sure the feel of the interior itself still held that warmth, the fondness of days spent as their small family of three, running through the halls with Amy as laughter echoed. It now stood steadily, anomalous. Perhaps it was simply because she’d been away for so long, even making the occasional trip, they became more few and far between. Or maybe it was the weight of what brought her back to Crescent Harbor, the news of her mother plagued by the onset of fading memories and cognitive abilities. Something that was only made more prominent when she came face to face with the woman at the door and while her features formed a softened delight, she was met for a moment with a gaze of confusion. Heart-rending to say the least, having to help one of the most important people in your life realize who you are, but it wasn’t her fault, so of course Emine did her best not to let it grip her too tightly deep down.

A bit more easily done when the recognition came a joyful ‘canım bebeğim’ exclaimed, being engulfed in a hug as she stepped inside. The rest of her visit had been much of the same, few bumps here and there but it was simply nice getting to spend this time with her. Both in mid-conversation when another presence entered the home, ears perking as her sister’s voice called out for their mother before she actually appeared in front of them. She hadn’t exactly thought they’d be here at the same moment, figuring Amy might’ve been busy with clients currently. Not as though she’d been actively avoiding her, but the strain between them had only increased as of late. Blue eyes lock with brown ones, only dropping after hearing the elder woman greet her, despondency cutting through the left side of her chest at how instant the recollection had been, though it wasn’t shown. Instead she allowed a subtle tender smile to curve in place. ❝ Hoşgeldin abla. ❞

Mid-shifts weren’t the worst, but after having some time in the morning to enjoy breakfast with his parents as well as a walk around the neighborhood, Haruto wasn’t in the mood to clock in. Calling out wasn’t in his blood though, and reluctantly he threw his apron in his crossbody bag, along with his wallet, cellphone, and a few other miscellaneous items. He kissed his mother on the cheek, as well as his grandmother, grabbed his bike from the small backyard and began furiously pedaling to his destination. 

Upon arriving at The Real Bean, Haruto walked his bike inside the store and straight to the back. The weather was supposed to stay nice, but there had been a few questionable clouds rolling by. And, although this was a nicer neighborhood, Haruto wasn’t confident about leaving his bike outside for eight hours. He had a little under twenty minutes before needing to clock in, but before placing his coffee order, he asked the closest person to him, “Do you know if it’s been this busy all day?” Haruto wasn’t going to order anything if it meant he needed to scarf it down quickly.

The drawback to transferring work was being uprooted from the cohesive rhythm and rapport she had down with her team and the company in general. Being essentially thrusted with the snap of a finger into slightly uncharted territory among the beginnings of a new project. Luckily as knowledgeable in her position as Emine was, it shouldn’t take too long before she found a confident footing. Although — pulling a late night stream of finally hundred percenting Resident Evil Village when she had a full morning of meetings, plus scripts and budget allocating to go over, probably didn’t aid in that happening any quicker. Nevertheless once she managed to fully pry herself out of bed, getting through the day had been a matter of auto-pilot and caffeine. 

With a slot of free time she found herself heading into the Real Bean for another pick me up, which number this was, four at the very least, before going to visit her mother. Two customers away from being at the counter, she peered over the menu, though likely would settle for a iced mocha, attention grabbed by an inquiry then. Bright blue hues shift to the man, taking a brief glance at the capacity of the café, with a light hum emanating out. ❝ Personally I’ve only been here like, five minutes or so, I’m not entirely positive. From the frazzled expression on the barista I’d go with maybe, but the line’s been moving steadily and it doesn’t seem like to many others came in after. Mid-day coffee rush could be slowing down now, or it’s just the eye of the hurricane. ❞

It was a slightly strange, though certainly welcomed, twist of fate to be meeting up with Dustin at the arcade. They’d both grown up here, much of their interactions had been fleeting however, kept majorly to a simple hi or smile upon crossing paths. That was until a point in her growing Twitch career when she noticed the woman pop into her chat every so often, eventually being appointed a mod after the two steadily grew to being online friends. Upon moving back, considering they were both now here, she figured it’d be nice to finally hang out with her in person, in the midst of also getting reacquainted with the town. Not long after she’d arrived did Emine spot her walking in, small grin slowly carving across her features. ❝ Dustin, hey ! ❞ Greeting warmly. ❝ Thanks for joining, I know it wouldn’t be ungamerlike to solo, but had a feeling it’d be more fun with your company. Will preface this by saying, it’s been a criminally long time since I’ve played actual arcade games — not unless you count flashback Atari, so, if I suck for any reason, fully blaming it on the retro joysticks. ❞
