Birds of Prey is so much better than 90% of the MCU movies because it's not trying to be generic and enjoyable for everyone. It has a specific audience. It knows it's audience. And it speaks directly to them. People who aren't a part of that audience might not get all of the appeal. They might not like the movie. But that doesn't matter. The mark of a good movie isn't how blandly consumable it is for every person possible. It's how well it understands what it's saying, and how well it communicates that to the people who have refined their pallets specifically for it.
