I’m drowning in property, someone send guidance and alcohol

27.04.18 [1/40 days of productivity]
Hey! I decided to start productivity program for my last month in second year law school studies. Nearly I finished my half of the university education, so that it’s getting serious. So, I want to make better not only my university lectures, but also my entire life because I’m living alone and I have a lot of responsibilities cuz of that. I have to control my time strictly, productivity may help me to make something nice. Let’s start a new journey! 🐥

one of my favorite local cafes has been open throughout this shelter in place, only doing takeout orders and enforcing a lot of cleanliness precautions (there’s a handwashing station right outside and you have to wash your hands before you can go in, and there are 6ft distance markers on the floors). they’ve even got free TP (i’m assuming what was their in-house supply) and are selling plants & flowers as well as essentials like milk, eggs, and bread (potentially from their own supply as well). it’s a scary time for small businesses–fortunately i’m in a position where i can continue to support my local ones.
i didn’t wake up on time today, but i did squeeze some yoga in! i hope i can make a habit out of it since it’s such a refreshing way to start the day. although it can be a bit distracting having a very rejuvenated cat in the same room. afterwards was just my usual routine of work, meals, a post-lunch walk, yada yada. my energy levels and focus were much better than they’ve been this week, though, so i think that counts as something.
was supposed to visit my parents this weekend but they told me to stay put instead just to be safe. i’m bummed, but i understand being cautious is for the better. it’s been nearly a month since i’ve seen them so hopefully i’ll get to soon. meanwhile, i’ve got to figure out what to do while being holed up in my apartment for another weekend.
also, i watched contagion last night, which was definitely a mistake. i mean, it’s good and the cast is epic. and as a scientist i liked that it was accurate! but as a regular person… hahahahhawhatthefuckimsoscared
i think i’ll make a list of feel-good movies to watch as the weekend approaches. (recommendations welcomed)

like practically everyone right now, I’m locked up at home trying to fathom what the world is going through right now. my mum said something a few days ago that really stuck with me – that really, no one has lived like this since the second world war. granted the threats were different back then, but the extent of disruption in people’s lives is comparable.
today marks two weeks since I left college. on tuesday at lunch we got an email ordering everyone to move out by friday night. rumours had been going around for days before that, but I don’t think it dawned upon anyone how serious this situation was until we all saw it black on white. I cried a lot while packing. I cried in my last lecture. I cried at breakfast before leaving for the airport.
I count myself extremely lucky. I was able to get out of the states and fly home to europe on a few days notice (and only hours before the travel ban went into effect). I’m my family, we are healthy and lack nothing. for now I’m still allowed to go outside for a jog and to get groceries. I’m not sure I’d be in the headspace to sit here trying to study if things were different.
I spent almost two weeks in bed playing sims and watching netflix, but yesterday I finally found it in myself to open my laptop and start writing. I’m slowly starting to study for the LSAT and am working on two papers that are due at the end of next week – one on Plato, the other on spatial segregation on Wall Street.
do you have online classes? how have you adjusted to them? what’s your top tip for distance learning?
you still have so many years to meet so many people you never knew you could love so much
1/02/18 How is it February already? I missed the last couple of days of january because I’ve been having a really really tough time. I’m glad I didn’t have any deadlines to worry about during it. I’ll make a long post about it. Im so glad I got the essay out of the way and done with, but I know I could have done more! Might rework it over summer? Dissertation possibly? I have a dissertation meeting today….! Emily xxxx

today my prof said to my class “you don’t truly love someone until they’ve hurt you and you still think of them as the greatest person in the world. Love is the most violent act.” ok ok ok
men are so fucking weird and scary? don’t let any man ever convince you love is supposed to be painful or violent. don’t let any man justify his wrongful actions by saying they’re just part of what True Love is.

As you can see I basically live in this cafe. Not complaining though, it’s beautiful.
I’m in love
