Did I mention I was building Thedas? Â Maybe I forgot. Â :P
Come hang out. :)
Just reset and I already won! :D
Iâm a Dude. Â Why did you call me Madam?
Hello. Â Welcome to my stream and blog. Â To answer your question:
Because saying sir OR Madam is so difficult. (Sarcasm)
Or picking a gender neutral term like viewer, friend, or even for us DA folks, Serah is too PC. (Sarcasm)
For all the dudes out there who call everyone sir. (Because it is so hard to discern from a name).Â
Being a lady is a great thing.
To prove a point.
Facial Animations
I agree Ryder sometimes looks old. It puts me off on occasion as well.
So, I wondered why that was, and without the ability to literally tear it apart, I wondered if it was the way it was rigged. For the skin to actually act like skin and not the way everyone is used to.Â
Now, I am not an expert, but these are my thoughts:
Normally, skinning something is kinda like painting a car. Itâs a layer. Not meant to move. Like swapping paint on the Nomad, but all the frost and dust layers are still the same. Animated, the âskinâ usually shrinks and grows as needed. If you painted a 1cm square for a zeroed face, and then make that face smile, that same square turns into a trapezoid, and then the painted layer is tweaked only in such a way that that original square doesnât look stretched or out of proportion.
I actually have a screenshot of this in the game. An area of building on Havarl that probably very much appeared fine as a solid color. Until the rain was told to react to it, and then, those drops were huge. I thought it was hilarious, because I understood what happened. They stretched a UV to fit and overlooked it. Iâve done it. Just an error a few people would ever notice in the background.
What the layer does not do -not usually- is fold over on itself. Extra polygons are always removed for performance purposes, because that scene is still rendered out frame by frame just like all your old hand drawn cartoons.Â

How many times can I die today?
Streaming some Douglas Ryder.
In case you couldnât actually see them from the first post.
Twitch is the world's leading video platform and community for gamers.
Starting with a new Character. Who better than my Earth goddess?
Intergalactic Girl  and ...Astronaut
This is part of the reason why I have a problem when people say âguys and girls,â instead of âboys and girlsâ or âguys and gals.â Â
These are the titles Lego Worlds decided to give their starting space explorer characters, because obviously they needed some form of distinction.
I donât specifically have a problem with a young lady wanting to explore the galaxy with a bright pink spacesuit. Â What bothers me is the phony made up title they had to give a woman to travel through space.
Now, I give slight applause to the guy I was watching during his letâs play. Â He actually added âboyâ to the end of the Astronaut title. Â It did level the field for me as a woman watching a dude near her same middle age play video games.
The problem, of course, is that Lego did this in the first place. Â
Reminder that when Lego started they were about leveling the sexism playing field. Â They kept to primary colors so that society and their mixed up ideas wouldnât carry over to children just trying to play with a toy. Â Of course, it didnât work. Â Sexism runs rampant in the toy aisles with the Lego aisle being one of the worst offenders. Â They had to create a line specifically for girls...
Anyway, now the thing is you know what dudes are thinking. Â They are thinking either:Â
A. Thatâs nice. They have a lady option.Â
B. Look at Lego bow to feminist pressure, blah blah blah
If you thought b, please remove yourself from my planet.
Of course, if they thought b, they probably have no idea about how Lego set out in the first place, they usually donât. Â They are usually the same dudes that think the whole planet was created for and by white men, and everyone else is just trying to steal a share now.
As a lady whose eyebrow jumped at the names of our planet wondering heroes, I guess my question is, what happened Lego? Â Why didnât that weird title trip your sexism triggers? Â Why wasnât it Astronaut 1 or Astronaut B? Â Astronaut Man and Astronaut Lady if you want to get all gender specific for weird reasons people try to justify.
And how do I keep a little tick like that from creeping into my daughterâs head or my sonâs when they go to play it? Â Because back to the little applause I gave earlier, that same dude gave a male voice to a female pirate, and that is the whole point. Â
These titles give the impression woman canât be astronauts or pirates, intentional or not.

From what I have seen, it looks like I may be able to play my sarcastic pain in a Mass Effect game.
Semi disappointed in the Andromeda launch trailer, especially since the first thing we ever saw featured Sara. Â Just seemed to follow the typical only white nerd boys play games rules for advertising.
I know itâs probably just me, but it actually bugs me to see actors in videos games.
Like you can literally generate any face you want, and you are using one already on the planet.

Multiplayer Games
People always complain about the nickle and diming of micro-purchases, but they forget an important place they get you as well. Â
Think back to your console.Â
When I grew up the only way to play multiplayer games was sitting next to each to each. Â One console, one game, family fun. Â I believe the success of the Wii recaptured that for a time, families and friends coming and playing together. Sure the games were mostly campy, but not the point of this post.
Now, trying to find a game where I can play with my son is nuts, scouring the information of just what their multiplayer consists of and usually that requires reading the comments.
Usually to play multiplayer you need to buy the game twice. Â A lot of them require you to have server space. Â My son is not old enough for the MMOs that you actually adventure in and thatâs what we want to do.
When I was a kid you even played computer games sitting next to each other. Â Scorched Earth. Â Worms. Â What happened to that? Â I mean it would have been great to have an option to play games with my cousins a country a way back in the day, but I am far more concerned with finding games I can play with my son in the same room now.
