Douglas loves Anders

I’m not talking health care. I am a QC trainer in a factory where we process at least 25k parts a day, most of them “stock”. They think we are too stupid to know what that means.

Half the state is red meaning roads are open for emergency vehicles only, but they are open to force us to use PTO or points. Or I’m sure due to the fact no one will be there, they will be kind enough to let us make it up.

Obviously, every game required an adjustment to Douglas’ looks due to the design limitations, so this is less about that. I am also sure as I learn the character creator, he might evolve a bit more.

The curly hair was always canon. Not as tight, but definitely the reason why he kept it so short and why he had the cow lick in the front. So this choice was based on limitations of styles and what fit best with that criteria.

The facial hair. If this was still Hawke, and he was still my age, I would have kept the goatee. He doesn’t tend to do full beards, because then he looks too much like his dad. 😅. But facial hair tastes have evolved over the last 15 years, and now I just think this is more fitting for our younger Rook.

Cheeks still high and prominent. Nose still long and straight. Jaw still squared off and chiseled.

I truly don’t like the fact you can’t pick an eye shape. I assume this is due to animation limitations within the creator, but I don’t know. I also don’t like the fiddliness of the eye color mixer. I can’t have a good opinion about the complexions because my TV makes skin tones orange and yellow, so most of them look truly horrible thanks to that.

I wasn’t upset that he became a she.

With that being said, what bothers me about the whole situation is in the books she and her husband are utterly in love, and the show is playing it off as easy and convenient, she liked him enough to get it over with. There are definitely a couple of looks where she is doubting or envious of what is apparently clear else where and she seems to feel is lacking in her relationship.

That’s what I feel sucks. There wasn’t doubts before the honeymoon began. There was no body else. And I’m not talking about just that look. There were a few at least where it was clear she was questioning everything.

I heard maybe they were trying to show differences in relationships -with her husband-. Yes, but why at the cost of love? They understand each other on deeper levels. They are comfortable with each other. They can still love each other. It doesn’t have to be friendly because it sounds like friends. He clearly understands the things that make her passionate. She understands him. I don’t understand why that cannot mean deep love for one another.

Obviously they are not faithfully following the books, I know that, but with her appearance at the end, it feels like they are heading for a certain event, and cheapening the before only makes it worse. The look totally could have come from the new arrival and would have made sense for everyone. That’s what I feel they got wrong.

They loved each other. Hes or shes would have made no difference.
