Something about the fact that after the Pevensie’s are pulled out of Narnia three of them don’t live long enough to reach those ages again. That Peter is supposed to be around twenty eight by the end of their reign and after returning to England he only lives until he is twenty two. That despite living multiple lives he never makes it to thirty. That Edmund dies at nineteen and Lucy at seventeen.
That Susan is left behind knowing what her siblings would have looked like for several years after their deaths and then not knowing any longer. That she grows up and has to face life without the people she always expected to be by her side. That even in Aslan’s kingdom the Pevensie’s cannot find true peace because someone is always missing.
That Peter never has the chance to graduate university or become a doctor, that Lucy doesn’t even live to adulthood, that Edmund never gets old enough for people to take him seriously. That Susan lives to be older than Peter ever got to be and then older than all her siblings put together before sixty.
That she has to grow up for all of them and they never get to.
chat reminder to just write whatever the fuck you want. write that overused trope. write that obscure shit that no one will have heard of. just. do it. your writing is yours stop depriving it of that.
honestly in the era of AI slop it is more important than ever for you to write or draw that incredibly niche/strange/unpalatable thing you want to make. the world needs the unique weirdness of people more than ever
fanfiction is a rare gem and a solid, living proof that, in a world of tiktok, influencers and content posting, not everything is about money and going viral. art can still be art just for the sake of the artists’ pure love, joy and passion for the art they create. fanfic writers write 100k words and more about the characters they love for free. just because they love these characters and the art of writing so much. art is not dead and the world is still beautiful.
shoutout to fanfiction and fanfic writers

A cozy library rendez-vous:
A 2140 words long snippet of a maladaptive scenario i just had to write down.
This piece is my first attempt at exploring a more serious kind of writing rather than purely playful fanfiction. Hope you enjoy it.
Also, english is definitely not my first language so please do not mind some of the mistakes.
Soohyun is so sure Kang Yohan is a bad influence on Gaon (and Gaon comes to the same conclusion at some point), but is he really?
Gaon is an impulsive person. He reacts without thinking. When he sees someone in danger, be that a little girl or a driver who almost killed her, he rushes to rescue. When he’s curious, he doesn’t hesitate to put a listening device into his chief’s office or break into a locked room. When he’s furious, he lands a punch or reaches for a knife. When he’s desperate, he’s ready to kill himself. At the same time, Gaon gravitates towards people who ground him with their authority and practically force him to make the ‘right’ decisions. Soohyun threatens him with ending their friendship if he becomes a criminal. Professor Min thrashes his bike with a golf club (!) for Gaon’s ‘own sake’. They expect him to behave because they tell him so, because they think they know best.
Kang Yohan, on the other hand, tends to calculate possibilities and outcomes. (He even plans his own demise. Twice.) He always tells Gaon to take the causes and consequences of each event into account, encourages him to think for himself and check everything. Even when Gaon tries to kill him, he basically says, “I’ll let you do what you want if that’s what you really want, but think first.” He’s just as impulsive when it comes to personal matters, but years of scheming have taught him to curb his instincts at least partly—and he tries to pass it to Gaon, but without preaching and presenting himself as a ‘moral compass’, especially since he doesn’t consider himself as one, and confident that Gaon can make his own decisions.
“In life, you always have a choice. Sometimes, it’s easier to think that you don’t.”
“I don’t want to be brave. I just want to be myself.”
“Some lives have been foretold, Merlin. Take heart, for when Albion’s need is greatest, Arthur will rise again.”
“There is not right or wrong. Only what is and what isn’t.”
“An half cannot hate what truly makes it whole.”
“No young man, no matter how great, can know his destiny.”
“I’m happy to be your servant, until the day I die.”
“Sometimes, you have to do what is right and damn the consequences!”
“You’re a son of the earth, the sea, the sky. Magic is the fabric of this world, and you were born of that magic. You are magic itself.”
“Everything here—is so full of life. Every tree, every leaf, every insect. It’s as if the world is… Vibrating. As if everything is much more than itself.”
“I don’t want you to change. I want you, to always—be you.”
“Until then, we go unmarked in death as in life.”
“You’re wrong. Don’t think I don’t understand loyalty just because I’ve got no one left to be loyal to.”
“You’re like two sides of the same coin.”
And in the same show, you’ve got an episode where the entire castle suffers from flatulence, Uther goes bald, the court physician slaps the king across the aforementioned bald head, more than once, while being possessed by a Goblin, the prince Arthur Pendragon gets donkey ears and brays, and another one when Uther, none other than the King of Camelot, marries a Troll.
The duality.
These writers were on something. Making us cry our eyes out one episode and marrying the villain with a troll the next like how ??
okay here to say we deserve lestappen title fight bc they actually enjoy racing each other while lando just acts like max is a criminal who kills one driver per grand prix because of his alleged "dangerous driving"
Pleaseee this is too reallll
the pevensies discovering the treasure room in the ruins of cair paravel must have been like stepping into their own tomb. here is the ruin of what you were. here is the remnant. here is where they took what you left them with and laid it to rest. here is your funeral shroud, daughter of eve. the skirt is too long for you now. here is the cordial, half-full. they dared not use it to save anyone without your hand to do the saving. here is your bow, still strung, and your arrows, unshot. here is the sword your hand still remembers, and here is the face you have forgotten. you did not die here, and yet still you were buried. what is a legend but another kind of ghost?
The beauty of that scene has haunted me for as far as I can remember. It's so sad yet overflows me with a kind of joy I couldn't describe.

The thing about Merlin and Arthur saying " we could habe been friends/get along if things were different" that gets me really is the double meaning/duality of this statement.
Becaue this line does not only apply to their positions, as one is king and the other is a servant, but it also embeds the secrety that surrounds merlin's true identity. If things were different, Arthur could have known Merlin, truly and completely, for who he is, what he represents and all he has done for Camelot, for Albion, for their friends, for Arthur. No more lies, no more fear, no more misunderstandings, no more angst. UGHHH their story just breaks me and the brainrot this show causes is too real. SEND HELP!!!
It’s all inevitable and all his fault
Comfort character or character who needs the most comfort ?
I can't even fathom how much happiness I felt once I learnt that bellarke actually got married both in the books and in real life. OMG, the actors are so cute, and from what I have seen in the books (can't buy because not available in my country🥺), their storyline is just too good for it to go to waste. The show really made me so angry when they didn't end up together, like how????
My take on the last episode of Merlin
Here's my take on the last moments between Merlin and Arthur after the battle of Camlann because I am seemingly too obssessed and I need someone to hear me out/ discuss this with. Sadly my entourage is not very familiar with the show 😔. So here it is for whoever is willing to read this.
"Why did you never tell me ?"
"I didn't want to put you in that position"
"That's what worried you ?"
This conversation was so hard to watch, Arthur asking that question means that he still sees him as a friend even though by this point he's still confused about the whole situation. But he cares to know why his best friend of 10 years never told him such an important truth about who he is. He cares to understand. He's been mostly silent and withdrawn and I like to think he wasn't afraid for long, but rather hurt obvisously and overly very sad and betrayed. But mostly he cared to know why Merlin thought he couldn't or even shouldn't tell Arthur about his magic. And once Merlin tells him he didn't want him to be put in that position, Arthur probably is generally going 'this idiot always putting others first to the point he denies who he is for the sake to not put his friend in a position where he will be hurt and confused to the point he doesn't know what to do'. And the he asks the question that haunts me at night, Merlin gives him the speech and the whole "I was born to serve you" .That's when it has finally dawned on him that this man hovering over him right now is no powerful sorcerer, no evil martermind who snuck into the castle, no traitor, it's just... Merlin. His idiotic, self sacrificial, beyond loyal friend.
"I'm not going to change now."
"I don't want you to change. I want you…to always…be you"
This right here altered my brain chemistry forever. But i specifically want to focus on the way Arthur says it: "I want you to all ways be you". Again, might just be me reading too much into it, I mean poor man was on the verge of dying, he can't be speaking properly but it is how I hear it. Therefore, I can"t help but think that it is just his own way of reassuring Merlin that even if he know the truth now, nothing changes for him, he still sees him as his dearest friend. The only friend he has and can't bare to lose him. It was maybe also more for him to vocalise his acceptance out loud. In the end It feels amazing to give in to his hopes, his doubts, his sentiments about magic. It's not evil, because if Merlin is born of it, it can only be wonderful. So yes, Arthur accepts Merlin fully with all his jokes, his clumsiness, his kind heart and his mighty powers.
"Everything you've done. I know now."
All i want to say is Athur, my dear you don't know half of it; and it's cruel because even if Merlin doesn't seek any credit, he deserved to be able to tell those tails of how he singlehandedly saved all the knights all of Camelot and Arthur numerous times. He was captured, stabbed, poisoned, punched, left to die alone in the middle of the forest. He could have told how he watched his father die right in front of him and couldn't even grieve properly, because he couldn't be revealed to even know the man let alone be his son. He watched his lover die in his arms and again couldn't speak of her because he would be beheaded if anyone came to know he had just laid eyes one her. He could have told Arthur about how he poisoned Morgana, freed Kilgharrah, caused his father's death, and manipulated him into thinking that he was the cause of his mother's death even after he learnt the truth. Merlin deserved to tell him all this and let him process it on his own to be freed from the weight of the lies and the guilt and the secrecy. And Arthur deserved to know.
"I want to say something I've never said to you before. "
"Thank you"
Now this is self explanatory, but it brought me some joy, like very little, but it also broke me because for all those years, Arthur thought his friendship with Merlin was quite equal in a sense. As in Arthur is the prince who lets his manservant do whatever he wants, say whatever he wants, and be however he would like. Merlin did protect him, help him, serve him but first and formeost he was his friend. And Arthur treated him as more than he ever was, protecting him, sending out search parties for him, a servant. He always thought they managed to trespass and see past the power imbalance in their relationship. But here he is, realising he actually never treated Merlin, his closest friend, the way he deserved, never properly thanked him for the sacrifice, for the life he had to lead whilst in Camelot, for everything he has endured and more. But he felt helpless, he was dying and there wasn't much he could do, so he opted to try and express his gratitude. Though words could never amount to truly convey hiw sentiments but he still managed to say it with assurance; Thank you.
And thanks for reading this, I know it's probably very silly but it has been torturing me for years and I just wanted to talk about this with someone and I finally got the courage to just do it so here it is 😊.
What is really ironic is that the episode "Lancelot du Lac" is one I just can't get myself to watch, even though one of my most adored characters is coming back from dead. But the episode where the insufferable Uther comes back brings me actual joy.
They really brought Lance back to paint as this dishonourable homewrecker who would kiss the knigdom's soon to be queen literally the night before the wedding, ruining his reputation forever. They also made Gwen appear as a cheater who would betray her soon to be husband literally the night before her wedding day. The scene in which her and Arthur fight in the courtroom broke my heart. They don't explain that the monster was sent by Morgana as a shade version of our beloved Lancelot or even that Gwen was drawn to him because of the enchanted bracelet. Also, the fact that Melrin had to say goodbye to his friend again. The way I sobbed when Merlin performed the spell to free Lancelot from Morgana's control. The way Lance said "Thank you" broke my heart for he at least got to die as himself, next to his friend and peacefully.
Now for when Uther comes back, I just really like the fact that Arthur finally realises that his father has always been and will always be an abusive piece of $h!t, as well as a murderer. Arthur gets to let go of those expectations he had set for himself thinking that he could get his father's approval, that he would finally make him proud. He decides to set his own path, as he himself says "You've had your turn. Now it's mine.". Camelot is his to rule now and to command as he sees fit. He knows he can't please his father and has to be true to himself. What is also great is Merlin ,later on, says that Uther did what he thought was best for the kingdom (which i believe in his own twisted mind could be true) mainly trying to appease his friend, but Arthur just deadpans "It doesn't mean he was right." And I believe it stuck with me because it felt like the first time Arthur truly acknowledges his father's faults, especially in front of another person. I truly loved it. This episode is also so precious because of the poetry scene iykyk lol.

We all know that Merlin is one of the smartest people in the kingdom, (maybe even in all of Albion). But I think that he only uses probably like 10% of that capacity to protect/save Arthur and the whole of Camelot. All the other 90% is used to just roast the living hell out of everything and anything in the best way possible.
People really underestimate my hatred for Uther. I mean, whenever this man appeared on screen, I considered homicide, like actual murder. Could have gone on whole rampage. This man is so utterly jarring. It's surreal.
He's a very unjust king, blinded by his hatred and guilt. You should have seen me once they had explained why he hated magic. This man has executed so many innocent people who were most of the time only suspected to breathe the same air as a sorcerer. They were either flogged or burnt alive or even drowned in a well. Simply because of a mistake he made. He also doesn't care for his people as much as he claims endangering their lives more than once.
He's also a horrible friend. "But I didn't suffer at his hands, Uther. I suffered at yours." This episode was so unnerving. Gaius, at his very old age, was thrown into the dungeons with no care for his wellbeing, was left to be tortured by a total maniac, and was betrayed by his so called "friend" whom he was loyal to for so long. He treated his ward, took care of his son, and has always been a trusted ally. Only for him to get flogged the second some kind of magical bracelet has been found in his room ??? Also, let's not forget how Morgana's father died.
Finally, Uther is an abusive piece of shit father.
In the episode where Arthur leaves for his quest to prove himself worthy of the throne, Morgana goes to Uther, reassuring him that he will be back. This man has the audacity to say, "He's the sole heir to the throne, Morgana." He doesn't say he's my child, my only son, or something along these lines. Nope, but simply declares that he doesn't care for his son as much as he cares for having somebody to inherit the kingdom once he's gone. Then, there is the fact that he doesn't tell him the truth about his mother's death even after he discovers it. What a coward. He puts Morgana in shackles and lets her spend a whole night in the dungeons. Needless to say, this man doesn't care for his kids.
He truly deserved hooking up with that troll.
Damn, really needed to get this off my chest.
