Sarah, first of all I hope you’re doing well. Second, I have not stayed up to date with BL at all, even my favorites, but as far as you can tell are AouBoom still fighting? Photos from a recent event look normal but you never can tell.
Ellie! I honestly have no clue what’s going on with them. If they’re fighting, they’re at least being professional about it because, like you said, they’re going to events and acting normally. They still aren’t hanging out outside of work, though, which is very unusual for them. It was also Ceri’s birthday this week and neither of them mentioned the other in their posts, which I thought was weird, but I’m also not sure what’s normal for mascot child birthday posts. My guess is we won’t know anything for sure until after the Only Friends tour is over. Then we’ll find out whether they’re moving forward with their show or not.
My biggest wish for next season is for Will to have an incredible year. Hope next season is Will's "prove those shit talker wrong" season.
Not just because I want to see him succeed, but because I'm tired of people acting like he's only valuable because of Mack. He isn't. He's a genuinely talented hockey player in his own right.
I hope he has the kind of season that leaves no room for doubt 😔❤

Watched a couple of interesting interviews with Chris Morehouse, the Sharks Director of Amateur Scouting. He confirmed the importance they place on choosing players who fit in with the current culture & identity of the Sharks.
He said their guideline is "competitive kids that care", and when they discuss drafting certain players he'll ask his team "would YOU want to play with him?"
They consider hockey a "people-based business" and care about how players handle themselves both on and off the ice. They are being very deliberate with which players they draft and making sure they fit the "identity of a Shark".
I get the sense they are very comfortable passing on players whose personalities don't mesh with what they're consciously trying to build in San Jose.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot. I think the AI witch hunt is a result of all the anti-AI posts re: fanfiction on Tumblr. If people are screaming about how bad generative AI is in posts that get tens of thousands of notes and people are consuming them, of course you’re going to have a wave of people accusing writers of using AI, harassing them and doxing them until they delete beautiful works.
AI is bad but screaming about it without telling people to stop accusing people of using it is going to eventually kill fandom spaces.
