My drow story started as a little horror short story for my dnd campaign, then became a full on idea for a novel, and now my brain wants it to be a trilogy… I'm only halfway done with the first one!
Anyway, I sketched some posters / mock covers for them 🕸️✨
ohohoh excited to show my dnd group what I drew back in february-march :3c
Let's take drow-buprofen together
Telana (currently Talonia) Echep, drow priestess of Lolth, from Velquesil in the Gossamer Court. She showed up in Sinria and had a talk with Neeril Orlyar, the party's drow ranger/druid, and offered her some of the Sisterhood's lessons.
Always fun when a fully improvised NPC just WORKS.
Ryldz'tes is a drow settlement in my dnd setting, on the outskirts of Blade Court territory, and the home town of one of the player characters.
Really I just wanted to make another panorama, but vertically, and I'm sick rn so my standards for when it's 'good enough' aren't super high.

More Gossamer Memories [ao3], my sapphic drow story, centered around my OCs Maynda and Luadril. I love writing messed up elves in a messed up society underground.
(I especially like to incorporate npc-from-my-dnd-game Jhaelkyoae "J'kae" Rhithiss and her spider familiar, "Princess")
Some moments from my drow fic Gossamer Memories [ao3]. Maynda (one of the two POV characters) has so, so much wrong with her >:)
Least fucked up drow is probably Taz'zt the… hair eater.
The way I make megadungeon maps such as this Underdark region is heavily inspired by Hollow Knight. I like the vertical-slice-of-an-anthill style, and to make it easier for me to run my adventures, I add details with life and colour to the maps. I know at a glance whether a cave is full of strange fungi or trapped by kobolds.
This map is only partially filled out, because my players didn't explore the whole thing. Some areas are sketched out, but not yet filled in, similar to unvisited areas in the Hollow Knight games.
I've been told to edit my notes so I can publish the adventures set in my "anthill" dungeons, but that's a lot of work. Instead, I've started writing my newer adventures with that possibility in mind, just a little. No promises.
Roth Mellar is a drow city in my dnd setting, and the only truly permanent settlement of the Brooding Court. This court worships an aspect of Lolth depicted as a giant wasp, and Lolth hasn't smited them about it yet, so yay wasp!
The court's other cities relocate once every century or two, swarming to a new location to drain completely of resources.
Three adventuring parties, illustrations for a short adventure I'm building. The players can choose between their crew being Experienced, Informed, or Equipped, in preparation for their mission into the hells.
I also made a sort of joke crew that's just Numerous, i.e. the players all get to make additional (low-level) characters.

Worldbuilding notes on spellrust.
In my setting, the Underdark has a magical weather phenomenon called dweomerfog, which some organisms feed on. Spellrust is a lichen that feeds not only on the fog, but on all magic. Having spellrust in the lungs can hinder spellcasting with verbal components, and in the bloodstream, spellrust can reduce the effectiveness or outright prevent magical healing. Even the dead lichen saps some nearby magical energy.
I am completely enraptured by your drow scenery. Kicking my feet and giggling even. I can just feel the depth and life and detail in it all and it just makes me want to know more!
I'm honoured!
Genuinely, the response I've been getting on my last two pieces has got me kicking my feet too, and I'm glad my art is finding its audience, or vice versa, as it may be. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. Being an artist online can be lonely sometimes, in a Fermi Paradox sort of way, and though I try not to let note counts affect my creativity, I have to say comments and tags (and asks like this) are really motivating.
Maybe… I should share more of my drow worldbuilding?
DRAIX’IL | The Navel
Given the reception of my other drow panorama, here's Draix'il, the Navel of drow civilisation in my setting, capital of the Umbilical Court (pun intended).
I made this in November/December last year, and I was going to wait until some of my players went here before uploading this, but eh why not now?
I also have NPC profiles for several of the characters depicted, but those I will keep secret for now. Don't want to spoil too much, just in case.
Full panorama, sideways for better mobile viewing, under the cut

More drawings for my Oracle class (but oops, also wizards!). These were made to illustrate the following Revelations (the oracle's "eldritch invocation" feature): Fateful Glimpse, Words of Suffering, Thread of Lachesis, Mouthpiece of the Beyond, Gift of the Last Breath, and Deathly Insight.
I could have made original characters for the last two, but then I felt like drawing the necrogals Beatris and Ungarn, much like I drew Marigold for my Amalgam class.
(While this was in my drafts, I finished the last two: Eyes of Light and Shadow, and Scales of Destiny:)
