tumblr creators are so under-appreciated. not only do they have skills with photoshop that i cannot even begin to comprehend, but they create most of the edits/gifs/content that end up on other forms of social media (twitter, instagram, reddit, pinterest). unfortunately, most of the time, the content that is reposted (without credit) often gets more recognition than the original post itself. for example, i have seen edits of mine with only a few hundred notes on tumblr receive thousands of likes/retweets on accounts that reposted on twitter. the content creator, who spent hours, days, weeks, or in some cases months working on their project reaps no benefit from putting in all of that effort; instead it goes to the person who downloaded and reposted their work. this is why users are always encouraging others to reblog from content creators, because it is the only effective way to show appreciation for tumblr creators. likes do not circulate posts on tumblr like they do on twitter and instagram; this is why it is so much more helpful to the content creator if users simply reblogged what they liked. it’s very discouraging for creators, time and time again, to watch the work that they put precious hours into go dormant, because a blog with a larger following decided to like it instead of sharing it. just reblog from tumblr creators.
