BIOGRAPHY.
Elijah Parker is the firstborn of the Faust family, the eldest of three. Basically grew up trying to protect his mother and his younger brothers from their abusive father, which is a strong part of his personality to this day. Still a kid, he assumed the role of “man of the house” when his parents divorced and the family moved to California. Elijah had to take on responsibilities very early on to help his mom out in any way he could and also served as a father figure to his younger brothers whenever she was away at work, especially once they settled down in Roswell and she was constantly gone trying to make that place a home for the kids.
As a teenager, he discovered his love for the guitar, which served as his refuge when things would get tough. They didn’t have a lot of money at the time so he started working odd jobs around the neighborhood where they lived until he had just about enough to buy his first hand-me-down guitar.
It was during his teenage years that he also began to hang out with the wrong crowd and that’s when he was introduced to the world of drugs. Elijah was introduced to heroin when he was barely seventeen and by the following year, he was already hooked. He found another way to escape reality, a way that also helped him forget his childhood traumas, and he fell madly in love with that feeling.
His addiction would last until Graveyard was formed and even after they moved to Los Angeles in order to pursue their dreams. As they didn’t even have the money to properly feed themselves, he wasn’t able to sustain his addiction. The first year away from home was the worst one of his life, not only because of the problems they faced as a band, but also for having to suffer through withdraws all by himself since his brothers weren’t aware of the situation — and he felt too guilty sharing it with them since he was supposed to be the big brother and care for them, not the other way around.
Elijah can barely even remember the whole meeting with the mysterious businessman, only has actual recollections of the damned show that happened afterwards. And the screams of the young people who ended up dying there that night. And the call that came in the morning after with a record deal that was way too good to be true.
The following years were a total blur for Elijah. As the band’s popularity grew, so did his addiction. He tried to go to rehab countless times but his craving for heroin always came back stronger than before. The band eventually found out and his brothers tried their best to help but Elijah always ended up falling into temptation. That was until Graveyard’s performance at the 2019 Grammys happened. It was the most important moment in their career — they were presented an award for best rock band and were to perform later in the evening. But Elijah doesn’t actually remember much about that night, only remembers feeling so bad that he could barely stand on his own. He felt like he was dying and for a moment, he wished he actually were. Their manager was completely furious and with good reason since that was their most important moment up to date.
So, going against Elijah’s brothers, he did what he had to do in order to get the guitarist to play. The band’s manager then injected more heroin into his veins and was able to get him on stage. Later on, while they were “enjoying” the Grammys’ after party, Elijah overdosed and died. Well, he died for a few minutes. Their manager panicked, he couldn’t allow the guitarist of the most famous rock band of the moment to die on his watch, so he asked the paramedics to inject adrenaline directly into Elijah’s heart. Three needles later, he came back.
The media never found out, his manager was simply too good at hiding certain things. Elijah was submitted to rehab one more time and decided to actually try to make it stick that time, even if the urge to escape is overwhelming sometimes. The timing couldn’t have been worse since the drama between his brother and their bassist happened only months later, with his brother booking a ticket back to Roswell and leaving them as they worked on their fifth album, and a former “girlfriend” knocked on his door with a baby in her arms claiming it was his daughter.
Despite all of that, Elijah was able to stay sober and has been for over a year now. He was forced to follow Cyrus back to Roswell and has been living in a comfortable apartment in Aurora Apartments with his daughter and his baby mama as they co-parent and try to figure their shit out. He also sometimes work as a DJ at Area 51 but it’s super casual since his main focus is still the band and his daughter.
