I don’t think it doesn’t make sense. Like I’m not super happy with it, but the way they framed it, it made sense. 

Like she flat out rejected Sofiane and told him they could only be friends. Then he saw her dancing, looking happy (putting a front as always but yeah). Seeing him in the background looking at her ? Brutal. We’ve seen how passionate he is about her, how ready he is to go above and beyond to down right - woo her - so the fact that he must be taking this super hard is…makes sense. In OG it made no sense because there was all this uncertainty and it made Yousef look flaky but here - Sofiane is obviously acting out in anger. It’s not a good thing but it’s a believable character flaw. He cares so much about Imane, he must be extra hurt, and the fact that religion plays a part - something he’s probablys struggled with a lot himself - makes it extra painful because he knows they both have feelings for each other and are compatible, they both know it, they were talking about having kids together !!!! And even though it must hurt like hell for Imane…well, she did reject him, so ultimately, she can’t say anything to him. It just must hurt like hell to feel like he didn’t really care (although it’s probably the opposite).
