Black as Midnight

“Like… everything? I’m ashamed I let my dead sister so easily possess me, and not fight back. I’m ashamed I wasn’t able to stop Lilith, and let her open that portal.”

Lilith was covered in blood staring down at the lifeless body of Forest. She slowly turned to look at her twin. “I’m finishing what we staring, E. Look at this!” A wicked grin made its way into her face ad she turned to look at the scene in front of her.

Lauren shrugs a bit and shakes her head. “Look I’m not ashamed to say that I’m an idiot when it comes to magic and demons.” She listens to Eisheth and gives a nod. “So basically just keep fighting till the sun comes up and hope they leave on their own. Gotcha. Well we’re a little low on Saints around here so at least we’ll all get a great workout by the end of the night.”

Connor was slightly startled by the woman’s voice. Causing him to turn slightly in order to look at her. He gives his head a little shake saying. “No worries, feel free to stay if you’d like.” Connor pauses and gives her a nod. “I’ll be alright, are you alright? You seem a little nervous.” Since skipping the Gala, Connor still was not aware of the town’s new inhabitants let alone how they got here. 

Eisheth was ready to leave, she didn’t want to bother anyone. But from what he said, she figured a little company would not hurt for once. Walking over the edge, she sat down next to him. “It’s only natural to be nervous in such a situation. Aren’t you?” She asked, slightly tilting her head to the side. Something about his words made her wonder if he was aware of all the crazy in the town.

“I’m astonished you figured it out without the horns, what gave me away?” She smirked, “just kidding, I don’t need an answer. So what’d you fuck up while the demons were taking over? They possess you? Did you love it?”

“I helped summoning you here. Is that fucking up enough for you?” She said, instantly regretting it. It most likely wasn’t wise to speak like that to one of them, especially when she regretted opening that portal in the first place.

“Nothing,” he replied quickly, not planning on making himself say any of that all over again. It had been difficult to even form the words so if it had not been for that rush he got from seeing her, he would have probably not said anything at all. “That makes no sense, but that brings back memories of me once saying I would bring the inquisition if witches messed up the town again. I guess I should start gathering torches,” he half joked, ever if he still had an unamused look written all over his face.

If her curiosity was just a tad bit stronger, she’d probably try t push him to talk. But it seemed there were some many more important things to discuss in this instant. “It doesn’t have to make sense. Everything’s fucked up anyway, nothing makes sense.” She sighed. Eisheth didn’t agree with most of what her sister did, but part of her wasn’t against getting rid of hunters. But she felt she was even a bigger threat than them now. “I won’t stop you. We deserve it.”

Evangeline let out an exasperated sigh, shaking her head a bit. Of course there wasn’t any kind of quick solution ot this, she thought to herself. “Okay, well how do we do that? Is it something you and I can pull off, or are we going to need help?” She asked, looking over at Eisheth. The sooner they could fix this problem, the more time they would have to attend to anyone who had gotten injured in the chaos of people running away from the tree.

“You can make up for them by making sure no one else dies. Fixing them is a different story. That is, unless you know how to get rid of the demons?” Evangeline asked, raising an eyebrow over at her. Evangeline figured that if she had helped open up the portal that released the demons, she should know how to close it too.. right? Shaking her head a bit, she kept an eye on the other people in the room, making sure there weren’t any violent outbreaks occurring.

Lee had to admit he was freaked out, but seeing Eisheth in front of him even more freaked or upset snapped him back into reality. “Who made you do what?” He asked, moving to hug her. He wasn’t sure if huge would help her, but he liked hugs so she was getting one.

“Now that you mention it, I do have an idea. Would you please do me the wonderful favor of not whining? If you’re feeling magnanimous, I’d love to pull off those pretty fingernails.”

“I’d rather keep my fingernails, thanks.” Eisheth replied, frowning at the other girl. She felt something was different about her, and she knew just what. “You’re one of them, aren’t you?”

After spending most of the morning sleeping off the madness from the previous night, Roland woke up to see that his sister was gone. He didn’t want to jump to conclusions but something told him he would find her with their newfound uncle. The thought made his blood boil and he set off to look for them, except he ended up finding someone he had been avoiding for a while. “Well you could start off by telling me why you are so bloody heartless all the time, so much indeed that you make me feel like some stupid emotional hallmark card.” His words came out without much thinking and it was almost a few seconds of silence that he came to realize she wasn’t talking about whatever history they had at all. “Wait, so it’s true? Did you and your witchy twin do that? Because that was slightly brilliant, annoying, but brilliant.” 

When she recognized him, Eisheth felt both relieved it was him, but also nervous. She couldn’t really deny she had felt something when she wasn’t in control of her body, but it all seemed like she didn’t deserve this. So she had tried to push it deep down so she wouldn’t have to think about it. “I’m sorry, what?” She managed to say after staring at him for a moment, trying to figure out what he was talking about, exactly. It seemed like something rather personal, probably that she hadn’t done personally, or at least not on her own will. “We did. Well, they did. Lilith and Agrat. I was against it.”

he tried to keep his composure up, continuing his ‘innocent cop’ trope though he knew she saw past it. jensen kept his eyes on her, eyebrows furrowed. he wanted to laugh while she lied to him about the situation. that’s precious, but jensen knew better. “i think all robbery is pretty serious, ma’am. c’mon, we can discuss details inside the station.” he responded with a sweet smile, reaching out for her arm gently. he didn’t want to drive her away, he simply couldn’t. if jensen got her alone maybe it would work in his favor.

Eisheth looked at him with doubt in her eyes, it was evident. She just knew she couldn’t trust him, yet she somehow had to make it look like she did. “Yes, of course, they are.” She admitted with a forced smile that quickly faded when she felt him take her arm. Usually, she would’ve jerked out instantly, but she had to keep her composure just this once. “That sounds like a good idea.”

After having one of his worse fears confirmed by Roland, Connor was in no mood to attend the Gala the previous night. Instead he sought refuge by the shore line. Sitting on the water’s edge, eyes closed as he listens to the water. A tear slowly sliding down his cheek as the memories of his time with his sisters fills his mind. He felt like an idiot holding onto an irrational hope that they’d still be alive and hated himself for taking so long to look for them again. 

Since the whole demons thing, Eisheth had been either trying to avoid people, or trying to make up for all the trouble she had caused to the town. That day, it was the first, and she was hoping to find some alone time by the water. But as she made her way across a bush, she came face to someone already there., which took her by surprise. “Oh, I’m sorry. I’ll... go.” She said, ready to turn around. But she stayed in place when she noticed the tear, and it took her everything to say her next words. “Are you alright?”

jensen knew there was someone other than himself that knew what he was. which was a problem, since he wanted to keep it a secret. he saw her that night, she opened the portal, yet now she’s going against him? tsk, tsk. he decided to take matters into his own hands with a leisurely, not suspicious walk as he sensed her coming closer and closer to the station. but luck is on his side as once jensen turned, he came face to face with the girl. eisheth. how charming. putting on a facade, his facial expression became concerned. “is everything alright, ma’am?”

Being so close to him made her feel uneasy. Through her eyes, it was just so obvious he wasn’t just a normal human. But that wasn’t a subject Eisheth could just bring up like that. So telling him the truth about why she was there was not an option, not to him at least. Luckily for her, with everything she had done, ying to a cop didn’t sound like too much of a bad thing, so she opted for that. “Oh there was uhm.. a robbery? Nothing major but I thought I should report it?”
