Why are there like 5 daily chores where if you skip them for 2 days your life becomes a time based psychological thriller after
your humorous post has delighted me. i will now absorb it into my dark crystal
sorry boss can't come in today i was on my way to work and then a gentle spring breeze kissed my cheek and reminded me it is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world

Self improvement is great but ultimately? you have to accept your self. Yes you can eat better, exercise more, read more, set boundaries, love your self, but it all comes down to this. Some days you won’t have the energy to do any of these things. And you’ll look in the mirror and think that this is not enough. That’s a lie. The biggest love for self is to live slowly. To rest. To really rest. Have a nap. Eat what makes you feel good. Read if you want to. Embrace yourself and accept that you cannot and will not be ever be perfect. Accept that you are good enough. You don’t need to keep busy all the time. you don’t need to go out all the time and post on instagram. You don’t need to journal if you don’t want to. You don’t need to make art if you don’t want to. Breathe, give yourself grace and compassion. Give yourself the love and tenderness you so badly need. Be gentle with yourself. You are trying and it is good enough. You are good enough.

Trying to choose tenderness...... trying....... trying.......... trying...........
Devastating to have more evidence that done IS better than perfect
Additionally, findings indicate that the act of doing shows you that you were not seeking perfection, you were fearing inadequacy
@grey-and-lavender
#oh that last line gutted me #is there a place between perfect and failure?
Good news! There is!
Bad news! It is called 'done'

HOLY SHIT ITS WEDNESDAY THE 19TH TODAY FUCK
probably the best advice I've ever got was from my grandpa when I moved from my town and started a university, he told me to leave the house everytime when I start to feel down, just to go to the park, a supermarket, a bookstore, to even drive in a bus or tram, just be around other people because staying at home all the time kills you; and you know he was right
the secret to living a calm and confident life lies in being organised and prepared. when you are always scrambling, searching, stumbling, you create an energy of chaos. part of respecting yourself is adequately preparing yourself for what lies ahead, through organisation and practise.
i know it's hard. but i so firmly believe the strongest antidote to loneliness is reaching out first. and continuing to reach out. again and again and again. excise any scrap of shame you hold about being the person who texts first or pitches the plan or asks to get lunch. everyone is tired and busy and struggling. and afraid of feeling unwanted and unimportant. don't let the people you love feel that way. reach out first. don't be a ghost in your own life.
High self-worth is essential as water, sleep, and oxygen. You must believe you deserve space. You must believe you are worth “it”. And then take that a little higher, and add your wildest dreams to this ecosystem. Our thoughts nourish our mind. When we think happy/exciting thoughts, our mind actively searches for these things in our surroundings to reaffirm and validate them. Even if we don’t yet have it, when we think about a big dream or goal, our mind starts pinpointing the opportunities that lead us to achieving these desires. Whenever you feel lost in life, go back to the drawing board of your self-esteem. Build yourself up again, as many times as you need to, even when it feels like you are starting over. Self-love, vibrations and energy is an important priority like sleep, water, and nutrition. Channel your highest self-regard before bed. Just a little reminder: when you’re struggling with a difficult situation, the best thing you can do is INSIST on championing yourself. Do not compromise. Do not falter. You are special.

One real benefit of reading I rarely hear anybody mention is how much more interesting life becomes when you read a lot. It depends what you’re reading, of course, but most (good) books will teach you something you didn’t already know, and even if you have to give the book back to the library, you get to take that much with you. A lot of people talk about things they wish they’d studied in school–I’ve done it, too–but it’s a nice consolation prize that you can always pick up a book and learn something new. And as that library in your brain collects more volumes, everything around you gains new resonances, new context, and new connections which make your lived experience richer. In quarantine alone I’ve read about religion and politics and history and evolution and computer science and astrophysics without even leaving my house and it’s already a more interesting world.
