More on my "Charlie is a DnD nerd and got Nick into it" headcanon.
Thank you Alice Oseman for this thought!
(Also the Paris Squad for me is Charlie, Nick, Tara, Darcy, Elle, and Tao.)
I feel like Charlie got into DnD (Dungeons & Dragons for the people who don't know.) Thanks to his dad occasionally playing it with some old friends, likely from secondary or uni, on the weekends. Julio feels like that dad who would let his kids play for him if they seemed interested in playing or runing a small DnD one/two shot for them.
As Charlie got older, I feel like he got his friends into it and they'd either have his dad DM for them or have Aled/Issac mainly DM for them. (The pre-paris Squad would all DM for eachother if they've come up with a story or plot to share.)
Now, onto what I think all of the Paris Squads classes would be!
Starting with my son Nick :D
Nick seems like the type of player to play alot of Fighters and Paladins, you know "big strong men", and playing alot with the background of "Folk Hero" in the beginning of his DnD experience but as he gets use to DnD, and gets more comfortable and confident with big his goofy self, I feel like he'd end up playing alot more Druids or Rangers still playing the "Folk Hero" background but now dipping his toes into the "City Watch" background...and maybe the "Faceless" background every once in awhile...also once he realized that he could have Nellie and Henry as animal companions for his character, he tries to very hard to always incorporates them both into the game.
Now onto my other son Charlie :D
This headcanon of Charlie is use to playing DnD so I'm kinda following Alice here when I say this but, Charlie does seem like the try to really enjoy playing magic users when he's a player, especially Wizard and/or Sorcerer. Sub class wise for both of these classes I'm unsure what for him same with backgrounds, maybe liking the "Hermit" background and maybe one of the many 'Student' adjacent backgrounds.
Now onto Tara and subsequently, Darcy.
Now like I'm putting them together because they have a bit more development in the TV show then in the early books but,...the lesbians are hundred percent feeling like they are a weird mix of magic and non-magic users in DnD. Like one campaign Tara is playing a Cleric and Darcy is playing a Monk/Wizard with wild magic, the next Darcy is playing a Fighter while Tara is Rogue/Bard mix. They are wild cards both in classes and in backgrounds as well.
Elle is also hard as she has more character development in the TV show then in the books BUT, I do think Elle is playing like Fighter or Monk hell maybe even play a Paladin or Cleric, just really tanky or fighting heavy classes that are actually sweethearts, (I feel like every campaign that Elle joins everyone ends up loving their character.) And just all around just a fun character to play with.
...I'll be honest Tao is harder to pick for, he has the same problem as Elle, Tara, and Darcy. But what makes him harder, atleast in my opinion, is that Tao doesn't seem like the type to play DnD. He'll watch and try to keep track of what's going on in the campaign or one/two shot but he doesn't seem like the type to actually play DnD...sorry เซฎ๊ฐหถ - ห -๊ฑแ
