Stop drawing canonically white/asian/latin/black characters or characters who are canonically australian, Russian, and Scottish or something and making them from your country or ethnicity instead of making an oc from your country and ethnicity that isn't an unrecognizable version of that said canon character, then getting mad at people who prefer the canon nationalities of these characters calling them slurs, and acting aggressive about it.

Medic isn't "german" nor "austrian" he's an indigenous poipoi bavarian-pakonan kikonian guy who was enslaved along with germans and kikonians, germans have red/ginger hair, austrians have 0 germanic, bavaric, and kikonian dna, and they have celtic, nordic, and slavic/eastern european dna in them. Not to mention, austrians killed his ancestors and families, so drawing him wearing an "austrian" outfit and befriending an austrian character/oc is disgusting and disrespectful!!! It's like drawing an Israeli and Palestinian or north korean and south korean characters being friends, it's disrespectful...

Drawing tf2 medic fat or muscular is disgusting, bodyshaming, and it's basically saying "ewwww.... I hate that you're canonically skinny!!!! Eat more, carry dumbells, drink protein shakes against your will, and just look how i want you to look" like, no... medic was bullied and abused because he's skinny...

What happened to just making original characters???

Also, people drawing canonically Russian characters "Ukrainian" literally misses that some Russians have no problem with Ukrainian people!!! Like heavy from tf2 who's canonically a 100% Russian guy literally adopted like 3 Ukrainian children out of 20 adopted children with medic from the gulag, and one of them was Olivia man's mother!!! Heavy respects everyone, except if you're austrian, north korean, or a communist, he hates these people...

Don't change his nationality, he's a proud Russian guy who hates politics but loves his siberian culture because of matryoshka, stroganina, beef stroganoff, bear meat, fighting bears, drinking vodka, dancing to some traditional siberian/ khabarovsk krai folk music like kazotsky kick, and wearing fur clothes because heavy and his family are from one of the coldest cities in siberia...

Also, i hate Brazilian miku, she looks unrecognizable!!! She looks like a Japanese gyaru oc who wears Brazilian style clothes because she's married to a Brazilian guy. Also, miku has small breasts, calmer personality, and she loves to sing. Who tf is that girl???? She looks like a hentai gyaru oc.

This is my rant of fanart!!!

Please: don't be like these types of people, please be respectful to the original sources!!!

1. Fandom is a vast community filled with all kinds of people making all kinds of fanart, and some of them will make fanart that you, personally, do not like. You cannot force people to draw a character a specific way and trying to do so won’t work. If someone’s work bothers you that much, then your best course of action is to block them and move on.

2. You have some pretty elaborate headcanons about Medic, and that’s absolutely fine. What isn’t fine, however, is insisting that your headcanons are canon and that the entire fandom has to follow them when they create fanart. This is especially true of things that can be verifiably disproven with canon. Medic’s character model and comic art show him as a lean but muscular and broad-shouldered middle-aged man, for example. He isn’t Saxton Hale ripped, but he is physically active and it shows in his physique. Depicting him this way is not “skinny shaming” and is in no way intended to put down very thin people. You can draw Medic however you want and are more than welcome to draw him with a different body type, but that means that others in the fandom have a right to do so, too.

3. TF2 OCs are not intended to “replace” existing characters. They are separate characters who happen to have the same job and/or be on a different team/be from another universe than their canon counterparts. If they don’t interest you, filter them out in searches.

4. It’s fun to do a little world-building and invent a culture for a story. It is not okay, however, to make wild claims about real nations and ethnic groups to prop it up. I have been to Germany (I studied over there for a couple of months!) and traveled all over and I can assure you that it isn’t an impoverished developing country and that German people are a very real culture and ethnic group. It’s inappropriate to claim that it doesn’t exist. Additionally, I’ve been to Austria, and every Austrian person that I’ve encountered has been a regular person and not a rabid, genocidal monster. These are real people that you are implicating in crimes against your fictional ethnic group, and that’s not okay.

5. The person that you are vaguing about headcanoning Heavy as being Ukrainian isn’t pulling “Ukrainian” out of nowhere. Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union and Heavy has a taunt (the Kazotsky Kick) that is quite literally a Ukrainian folk dance that became popular across the Soviet Union. “Ukrainian Heavy” isn’t a big stretch. It doesn’t have to be your headcanon, but it isn’t “disrespectful to Heavy” for other people to have it.
