How many weeks after your first stage where you able to go out long periods? I was supposed to have a date at the start of summer but wasn't given one till resently. It's cutting really close to the start of uni for me and I'm just feeling a bit hopeless right now.
My one month post op appointment in London was the most active day since surgery and I felt confident with mobility and energy levels.
At 8 weeks post op I went on a 6 mile walk taking photos, and felt fine doing so.
At 9 weeks I had a 19 hour day being out and about.
At 4 months I rode my bike for the first time post op.
What date is your surgery booked for? Depending on what your course is and if you’re moving house etc, it might be manageable. I’d say for forearm phallo 6/7 weeks is where you start to feel more able to do things for yourself and be healed enough to do so. As long as everything heals well and there are no complications. If you’re concerned it might be wise to contact your university to explain you’re having to have surgery (they don’t need to know what for) and could you either start a month later if needed and have some 1 to 1 catch up sessions with a tutor. Or start at the start of term but take it easy, have help and if you can, do assignments at home whilst recovering.
