I am now just over one week post-stage 1!
I've been way too exhausted to write down like, any of my experience until now, and it's hard to type with one hand.
Recovery has been pretty awesome. I spent six days in the hospital and got home just a few days ago. I'm really happy with my penis. I spent so much time being scared leading up to surgery, but now that I've had it, I feel like I can do anything. Well, not literally. I'm very physically restricted right now. But metaphorically, I guess. There have been hard parts of the recovery, and times where I've felt very anxious, but I feel like I'm operating from this deep, undiscovered part of myself that is totally at peace now. That no matter what happens, I know everything is going to be okay. I'm just happy to have a penis at all.
I'm doing everything I can to make sure my healing goes as smoothly as possible, but man, the gender euphoria has seriously taken the reins on me here. It's such a stark difference in my internal emotional structure. I haven't even had a vaginectomy yet, and I feel like I've just passed this threshold that has held me back for so, so long. Phalloplasty is a miracle. The relief is more than I've ever felt. I'm so grateful to be on this journey right now.
