“hey, you’re cute, wanna go for a joyride?” no, no they don’t. leave them alone, sooyoung. you’ve done enough damage. please.

if there’s anything, it’s her habit to fiddle with her beads -- both when she’s nervous and when she’s not, although she’s very rarely anxious in the current day. she’ll run them through her fingers, squeeze them, anything to stay in touch with her feelings of home, which fade more and more with each passing day in eden -- they comfort her.

in all honesty, sooyoung has never been in a relationship, nor does she honestly want one -- the idea both scares and disgusts her, because she can’t see herself giving all of herself to someone else in any way whatsoever. even considering it just makes her uncomfortable, since she’s never had a crush and doesn’t fantasize over others, keeping her affections for her limited family instead.

sooyoung grew up catering to others, under a gentle mother who taught her the most important thing is to look out for herself: do what it takes to protect yourself, no matter what. she constantly received teasing from her peers at school, which caused her to become an introverted person, considering their poverty -- the scholarship girl who ran an outdated novelty shop with her single mother. she was marked to be made fun of from the start. this, eventually, would develop into a cruel streak for her -- when she came to eden, she saw this as an opportunity to reinvent herself. so she became the worst person she could foresee herself being -- because maybe that would mean people wouldn’t do the things they used to anymore.

sooyoung is very rarely, if ever, happy. amused, yes -- but she’s usually bitter, out to make someone else unhappy, for whatever reasoning she might have. she’s got very skewed morals, and her lack of happiness often makes her want to make others miserable, which then results in ... interesting ... situations. she gets a rise out of pissing off, or scaring, others -- hence why she carries around fake weapons as well as real ones to pull a “prank” every now and then, when she feels like it. someone stop her.

despite popular belief, sooyoung isn’t the most confident person, especially when it comes to her looks -- if she’s anything, it’s insecure, hiding her weaknesses under a mask of sass and snark. she’s never been comfortable enough to show a lot of skin unless it’s to go to some party she’s purposely trying to get drunk at -- any other time, you’ll rarely catch her in anything that isn’t jeans and a baggy jacket, and her trademark beads adorning her neck and wrists.

“yah, you think i don’t know that?” ewwwww, who is this creepy old fucker tryna give her life lessons. “doesn’t mean i’m not going to enjoy life and ignore assholes like you.” she offers a cheeky smile before returning to what she was doing -- which was, uh ... eating snow? or something? even the narrative doesn’t know what the hell she’s doing, damn. ( it’s probably best to just leave her alone to do ... whatever it was that she was going. )

“... i got two questions for you, fangs -- actually, just one, i’m too curious to even care about the other part. how -- the hell -- does a vampire hurt himself? aren’t you supposed to be all, impossible to hurt or whatever? or have i been studying the wrong romanticized centuries-old fictional literature on bloodsuckers? because i’m fuckin’ astonished right now, just saying.” a pause. “oh, and there’s bandages in the other room, i guess. but no access until you answer my question, because i didn’t know nam edward could bleed.”

the response is amusing as hell, for sooyoung-- she’s biting back a snort of a laugh, at the enraged expression on the man’s face. “hell yeah,” she continues, stifling a giggle, “let’s fucking fight. you and me, big man, let’s go.” she promptly slaps her own chest and puffs up, and the smile she’s obviously fighting from surfacing is evident. she loves fucking with people -- sometimes, though, it’s just too hard for her to stay even mildly serious. she’s a terrible actress. “one on one, pal, i’ll take you down!”

“-- huh?” oh! there’s something dripping down her face. she makes a face of surprise, lips splitting into a smile, and she hastily wipes it away, grinning at the man. “hey, thanks -- i mean, not that i wouldn’t have noticed it at some point anyways, but i appreciate it. unless you were like, staring at my mouth or something. which is creepy. you shouldn’t do that, i carry a pocket knife around with me for self defense. just saying.” there is no fear in her eyes. sooyoung is terrifying.
