Writing up the outline for my first Medieval history paper. Honestly the outline is the most important part of writing an essay in my opinion, itâs so helpful to organize your thoughts and then afterwards all you have to do is fill in the gaps and edit.

wake up early
drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up
meditate or concentrate on your breathing for at least 2 mins
visualize your goals for the day and for the future

what do I do with my break? from a college student, for a college student.
get plenty of rest, but not too much. you should be getting 6-8 hours of sleep. donât mess up your sleeping schedule with staying up late and/or sleeping for too long. wake up at a reasonable time.
catch up on tv shows/watch Netflix. youâve worked hard this semester, reward yourself and fulfill your craving of Netflix and tv shows.
assigned readings. if you know of any assigned readings, make sure you do them asap. that way you can be prepared and relax for the rest of the break.
read for fun. make sure you are finding joy in reading books that you enjoy or genuinely have an interest in. reading for an assignment or a grade can be exhausting so remember how it feels to read for fun.
clean and reorganize. (if youâre anything like me, i actually enjoy cleaning and reorganizing. I literally clean and reorganize every other day.) redo your desk space, your pencil cases, your bag, anything! also go ahead and start planning next semesterâs schedule.
catch up with old friends and keep in touch with new ones. being on break is fun. you have a bunch of time so why not reconnect with friends you didnât get to see at college or were too busy to see during your semester. also keep in touch with those new friends. (I know I definitely miss my roommates and my friends a bunch already so Iâve been facetiming and snapchatting them a bunch!)
exercise. make sure youâre taking care of yourself during break and maintaining your physical health and eating healthy!
self care. take this time to make sure not only your physical health is well, but focus on your mental health. focus on yourself and what you need.
create something. art, music, anything! donât lose your creative side and reconnect with it while you have time.
try picking up a new hobby or learning something new. and if you already have a wide array of hobbies, focus on those. learn something new, it doesnât have to be academic, it could be learning an instrument or how to bake or writing. virtually anything youâre interested in!
I hope everyone enjoys their breaks and happy holidays! I know Iâm already enjoying my break, but I canât wait to get back to school and really start up my studyblr with all of my notes and school work.

Hello, I was wondering how you are studying for your AP euro class since I can't find the right method for me to study. We usually go over a powerpoint in class and are assigned chapters in the book to read, but it's too much of an overload of information. Looking for a new way to learn this information. Hope you can help. :)
We have about the same formatâwe do textbook notes every night and have class activities and lectures on the same topics.Â
Thereâs no real way to avoid the information overloadâAP Euro is a lot, thatâs why itâs AP. It helps to study things by sections in the textbook because itâs broken down into topics for you. Another great way to prepare for the AP exam is to do practice MC on a site like Albert.io.
Here are my top 10 study techniques that will hopefully help!Â
When I took AP Euro, what helped me was having outlines of topics alongside notes in class. My teacher gave us outlines that went with notes, and annotating the outlines during lectures can help a ton, while not overloading you. I also recommend getting a companion study book. My personal favorite is Barronâs but thereâs also 5 steps to a 5, Princeton Review, etc. This can help give a run down of events. It doesnât go into a whole lot of detail all the time, but it especially helps for review before the exam.

A while ago⌠a longgg while ago⌠I had a list of these and I thought Iâd try and make the list more expansive. Qualifiers/Intensifiers are adverbs used to indicate the degree of something (e.g. very, quite, pretty, extremely).
Here are 60 of them. This list is by no means exhaustive (when I had to grab some examples from Duden online, it shows you the section for synonyms and there are easily 150+) but I mean itâll stand you in good stead.
1. absolut (downright/utterly/absolutely) Ex: Du hast absolut keine Ahnung. Tr: You have utterly no idea.
2. ausgesprochen (downright/markedly) Ex: Eine ausgesprochen malerische Landschaft. Tr: A downright picturesque landscape.
3. auĂergewĂśhnlich (exceptionally/abnormally) Ex: zu auĂergewĂśhnlich hohen Preisen. Tr: At exceptionally high prices.
4. auĂerordentlich (exceedingly/remarkably) Ex: Das Essen war auĂerordentlich lecker. Tr: The food was remarkably delicious.
5. äuĂerst (most/extremely/utterly) Ex: Die Lage ist äuĂerst angespannt. Tr: This situation is most tense.
6. bedeutend (significantly) Ex: Die Donau ist bedeutend länger als der Rhein. Tr: The Donau is significantly longer than the Rhein. Note: This is mainly used with the comparative.
7. beileibe [nicht] (by no means/in no way) Ex: Meine Freundin ist beleibe kein Supermodel. Tr: My girlfriend is by no means a supermodel.
8. beinahe (almost/nearly) Ex: Er wäre beinahe mit dem Auto zusammengestoĂen. Tr: He nearly collided with the car.
9. bei weitem (by far) Ex: Er ist bei weitem der Beste in der Klasse Tr: He is by far the best in the class. Note: This is mainly used with the comparative or superlative.
10. bemerkenswert (strikingly/remarkably) Ex: eine bemerkenswert schĂśne Kollektion. Tr: A strikingly beautiful collection.
11. besonders (especially/particularly) Ex: Das hast du aber besonders gut gemacht! Tr: But there you did particularly well!
12. beträchtlich (considerably) Ex: Die Zugspitze ist beträchtlich hÜher als die anderen Gipfel in den bayrischen Alpen. Tr: The Zugspite is considerably higher than the other summits in the Bavarian Alps. Note: This is mainly used with the comparative.
13. denkbar (possible) Ex: Sie hat den denkbar schlechtesten Eindruck gemacht. Tr: She has made the worst possible impression. Note: This is mainly used with the superlative.
14. durchaus (absolutely/definitely) Ex: Ich bin durchaus nicht dieser Meinung. Tr: I am definitely not of that opinion.
15. echt (really/truely) Ex: Das ist echt beschissen. Tr: Thatâs really shitty/That really sucks. Note: echt is colloquial.
16. ein bisschen (a bit) Ex: Ich bin ein bisschen sauer. Tr: Iâm a bit angry.
17. einigermaĂen (to an extent) Ex: Er hat sich wieder einigermaĂen erholt. Tr: He rested again, to an extent. Note: colloquially this can mean âveryâ.
18. enorm (enormously/tremendously) Ex: Die Preise sind enorm gestiegen. Tr: The prices went up tremendously. Note: enorm is a bit colloquial.
19. entschieden (decidedly) Ex: Er hat entschieden schlechter gespielt als vor einem Jahr. Tr: He played decidedly worse than a year ago. Note: This is mainly used with the comparative.
20. entsetzlich (horrendously/appallingly/terribly) Ex: Es war entsetzlich kalt. Tr: It was horrendously cold. Note: According to Duden, this when used as an intensifier is also colloquial.
21. etwas (some[what]/a bit of⌠itâs hard to define on its own) Ex: Nehmen Sie etwas Salz und streuen Sie es Ăźber den Fleck. Tr: Take a bit of salt and scatter it over the stain.
22. extrem (extremely/particularly) Ex: Das ist ein extrem starker Kaffee. Tr: Thatâs an extremely strong coffee. Note: extrem is a bit colloquial.
23. fast (almost/nearly/virtually) Ex: Der Bau ist fast fertig! Tr: The construction is almost done!
24. ganz (completely/quite) Ex: Sie ist ganz verrĂźckt nach Schokolade. Tr: Sheâs completely crazy for chocolate.
25. ganz und gar (utterly/completely⌠itâs.. more âcompletelyâ than ganz) Ex: Ihren Vorschlag kĂśnnen Sie ganz und gar vergessen. Tr: You can completely forget about your proposal.
26. genug (enough) Ex: Der Schrank ist groĂ genug. Tr: The cupboard is big enough.
27. geradezu (virtually/almost/really) Ex: Das ist ja geradezu fantastisch! Tr: Thatâs really fantastic!
28. gottserbärmlich (dreadfully/god-awfully) Ex: Es war gottserbärmlich kalt. Tr: It was dreadfully cold. Note: I am given to believe this is also  colloquial.
29. hĂśchst (most/extremely) Ex: Ich war hĂśchst Ăźberrascht, dass die Wahl so augegangen ist. Tr: I was most surprised that the vote ended like that.
30. irre (mind-blowingly/insanely) Ex: Das ist jetzt irre wichtig fĂźr mich! Tr: Thatâs insanely important for me at the moment! Note: irre is colloquial in this sense.
31. irrsinnig (insanely) Ex: Sie freute sich irrsinnig. Tr: She was insanely happy. Note: irrsinnig is colloquial in this sense.
32. kaum (hardly) Ex: Er kann kaum lesen! Tr: He can hardly read!
33. komplett (completely) Ex: Du spinnst komplett! Tr: Youâre completely mad!
34. lange/längst (not nearly) Ex: Dieses Buch ist [noch] lange/längst nicht so gut wie sein Letztes. Tr: This book is not nearly as good as his last book. Note: If you use lange, itâs normally preceeded by noch.
35. mäĂig (relatively/reasonably) Ex: Ein mäĂig groĂer Raum. Tr: A relatively big room.
36. nahezu (virtually) Ex: Eine nahezu optimale LĂśsung des Problems. Tr: A virtually optimal solution to the problem.
37. recht (really) Ex: Er arbeitet recht gut! Tr: He works really well!
38. relativ (relatively) Ex: Zehn Euro beim Einkaufen sind relativ wenig. Tr: 10 Euros for shopping is relatively little.
39. sehr (very) Ex: Ich kaufte ein sehr altes Haus. Tr: I bought a very old house.
40. total (totally/absolutely) Ex: Nach dem achtstĂźndigen Marsch war ich total erschĂśpft. Tr: After the 8-hour long march I was totally exhausted.

51. vollauf (fully/completely) Ex: Ich war vollauf damit beschäftigt. Tr: I was fully occupied with it.
52. vĂśllig (fully/completely) Ex: Ich bin mit dir vĂśllig einverstanden. Tr: I agree with you completely.
53. vollkommen (fully/completely) Ex: Ich bin auch vollkommen deiner Meinung. Tr: I am also entirely in agreement with you.
54. weit (far) Ex: Der Wagen ist weit schneller, als ich dachte. Tr: The car is far quicker than I thought Note: This is normally used with the comparative.

how to deal with failure
okay, simply put, i know finals are going on right now, and i know a ton of us are struggling. this post is intended to help you bounce back after a failed exam, a poorly written paper, or whatever else may be getting you down.
donât give up! everyone has failed or will fail at some point, but i promise itâs not the end of the world. instead of calling it quits, think of why you could have failedâand donât say âiâm just stupidâ or âi canât do it,â because i assure you thatâs not the case!
were you stressed?
did you procrastinate?
did you not study enough?
did you study the wrong material?
was it something as simple as not sleeping enough or skipping breakfast?
once you know what went wrong, come up with a fix so it wonât happen again (or at least not as extremely) in the future. hereâs a list of some things you could try (in no particular order):
mellow out: take some time to decompressâhave some tea, take a bath, listen to your favorite music, or whatever else helps you calm down. studying for hours on end is pretty counterproductive and you wonât get as much done, so be sure to give yourself a time out every once in a while!
plan ahead: as soon as you learn when the next test will be, take the time to pick some days to study in advance. if you have a study plan in place, youâre much less likely to procrastinate or lose track of time.
set some goals for yourself: big or small goals are both fine! whatever your goals may be, just make sure theyâre not too much for you; maybe your goal is to write a page a day, or study one chapter per study session. heck, maybe youâre aiming for an A this time around. go for it! just donât push yourself too hard.
make a routine: this applies to almost everything tbh. having some sort of routine will help you in everything you do! for example, you could study on a regular basis (30 mins or 1 hr each day) instead of cramming for hours the night before a big test. the last thing you want is to pull an all nighter and then not remember anything for your exam. another example would be to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day. yes, this includes weekends!! âcatching upâ on sleep is a myth, itâs much better for you to get a consistently decent amount of sleep (7-8 hrs a night for most people).
talk to your instructor: their job is to help you succeed, so make use of that! they can give you pointers regarding what/how to study, or they may offer extra credit to boost your grade a bit. if they have office hours, you should definitely visit during them, or you can set up an appointment in advance. it lets them know that you care about the class and theyâll be much more open to helping you.
perhaps most importantly, donât be so hard on yourself. find a positive source of motivation rather than a negative oneâfor example, think about your hopes and dreams for the future, rather than poor grades that youâve gotten in the past. when something bad happens, you wonât feel so defeated, because youâll still have so much to look forward to.
