Good day, sunshine.

I turn 26 tomorrow and I’ve been doing more reflecting than usual over the past year, even more so the last few months. I feel like there are so many moments, opportunities and places I’ve taken for granted. Even a few people I still think about and wonder if I could’ve done something differently. Although 26 is still fairly young, I do kind of feel like I’ve wasted quite a few years of my own life that I’ll never get back. I’ve lived here since 2013 and will be moving out of state at the end of July. Truthfully, I really don’t want to go. For more reasons than one but this is the place I proudly consider home. I’ve built so many deep connections to certain places, it feels like I’m leaving parts of my soul behind. Looking back, while I try not to regret too much, I can’t help but feel incredibly weighed down by the fact I could have made better or different decisions throughout my early 20′s. So much could have been different now if I had just done things differently then, but that’s life I guess. Until that inevitable day in July I’ve been trying to spend as much time as possible in the places I love, doing the things I love to do. I do plan on visiting when I can, and hope to move back one day, but who knows what will happen. Regardless, I’m long overdue to make some changes. Here’s to another year of life, hope I don’t mess it up too bad.
