honestly the main reason I've started scheduling my next big tattoo is that all of my screenprinting ideas are to make shirts with animals I like. Almost all my tattoos are animals I like and when I'm wearing a shirt of animals I like on top of those tattoos it starts feeling very themed
I think Callista probably does not fully recognize the depths of emotional intimacy she's got with Yrliet at this point. And I think she probably doesn't see the emotional intimacy the way Yrliet does. She'll probably break it off explicitly after Commorragh. But because I love mess, I do think there's something kind of awful (but fun to explore) about how Kibellah must feel about almost certainly sensing Yrliet's presence in her psychic bonds with Callista. And I think it's sad and fucked up (but fun to explore) that she probably can only process the transgression of it through the lens of Xenos corruption instead of what is actually happening which is Callista being kinda unfaithful/not actually making space for Kibellah. :( also I think she might be getting synchronicity + fanatic? If that is possible.

I really dig how much of both the Kibellah romance and the Yrliet romance are taking place inside everybody's projections of their brains. And I guess Yrliet is supportive (even though isn't this response perhaps what Yrliet is feeling about Callista uh oh). (and the end of this scene with them finding comfort in each other's psychic presence had *me* swooning)
I can't say that this is exactly how I'd frame *my* worry in Callista's place. I think it's less that Callista can't take up space occupied by Big E in Kibbles' heart, and more that Kibellah's vocabulary for interpreting love is limited by how she's learned devotion, so her devotion for Callista's role seems conflated with the emotions that bubble up.
But! Callista really does match Kibbles' freak? so I think this dialogue to articulate her fears in the relationship kinda works. Troubling power dynamic? What do you mean? they're both servants of the Emperor, and Callista knows she pales in comparison to His light, so of course He would take up all of Kibbles' love. Still turning it over.
Anyway this is the best Darktide hair. Business in the back party in the front.
