tosia is tere’s best friend from her special school. they’ve been friends since the very beginning, meeting in the nursery, getting closer in some group speech therapy sessions, and becoming friends upon discovering they have a mutual love for insects! (particularly butterflies and moths)
her full name is antonina wiara hetmańczyk
like tere, she’s thirteen years old
she has cerebral palsy (and a slight speech impediment partially caused by it)
she’s a second generation immigrant, being ethnically Polish (self indulgent… i am making my own representation!!!)
her favourite colours are yellow (like the sun) and blue (like the sky)
she really likes being outdoors — one of her favourite things to do is lie on the grass and stare at the sky, particularly on slightly cloudy days (she finds watching the clouds move slowly relaxing)
she also really likes being in water. though she can’t swim properly, she attends swimming lessons at the school (they have a pool!!)
she likes to do this thing she calls ‚intense painting’, where she paints random patterns as violently as messily as she can. it feels better than painting normally because she doesn’t have good coordination, and she’d rather mess up intentionally than not.
she’s good with babies and toddlers. she used to wish for a younger sibling (she’s an only child), though she understands why her parents wouldn’t want her considering she’s pretty high-needs
she used to dream of being a hairdresser. though she knows she’s not very good at it, she still likes to play with people’s hair. she once tried to braid tere’s hair — the braid came out super uneven, but tere still loved it
she’s VERY giggly. can start laughing at random times… sometimes at very innapropriate times, too
VERY good at keeping secrets. anything you tell her, she’ll take to the grave. tere has confessed many things to her, and she’s never felt tempted to say anything about these confessions (or even ask tere about them more) to anyone. she’s ver trustworthy :]
toñita has beef with tosia, and tosia has no idea why. (toñita doesn’t actually have any good reason besides the fact that she doesn’t like that their names are similar)
has an impressive plushie collection. each plushie has a unique name and personality assigned to them. she will gladly infodump to you about them

(just adding a note, not really related to tosia herself… but tosia and tere’s school is inspired by a special school my brother used to have swimming lessons in + a special village for disabled people in my city. both are VERY big, so tosia and tere’s school is also very big. (also very well-funded, not like any school in hacienda…))
