thinking about how many citizens of azeroth were genuinely scared to say "deathw/ing" or any of his other given titles out of fear of waking him up. that's some superstition shit right there.
the dynamic between deathw/ing and alexst/rasza is made even more intriguing when you think about how she is the fire of LIFE , warmth and CREATION , whilst he is the fire of raw , unbridled DESTRUCTION and POWER . alexstras/za’s presence makes the flowers bloom and the day prosper , while deathw/ing’s presence FORCES change onto the land , he carves it and breaks it . it’s one of the reasons why i always believed their relationship was a bit … TENSE ? even before nelthario/n’s inevitable betrayal , they were always quite STRAINED but steady .

when most people think of DEATH they usually go to the concept of ROT / DECAY. but deathw/ing is another resemblance of death. my big onion is that out of all the expansions wow has ... cataclysm was the most lazy / rushed when the overall story / content had SO much potential but was just poorly portrayed . this is also the same expansion they needed to rush / move the story along faster so they let sylvan/as get taken down by a sad little man with one rusty arrow & i refuse to acknowledge that as canon . cata was my least played expac out of my entire wow playing career .
anyway , blizzard managed to make a cutscene with two powerful dragons having a sky fight look hilariously lame & i’m literally here to rewrite everything .
people who think nelthari/on could have been redeemed : insert clown emoji here .
so like, the scariest thing about deathwin/g isn’t that he’s actually like a 700ft dragon that’s death’s incarnate. no. it’s the fact he can shapeshift into anyone & go completely undetected, no matter your skill in sensing magic. aha :) he really could just be anyone & you won’t know. thanks.
