 suggestion : don’t mingle too much with people now , a mental note made upon the discovery of a girl with unique abilities. was she afraid ? certainly not , the only monster between the two of them was surely herself. penetrating her skin would prove to be difficult , but the girl in front of her ? as capable as she seemed there was fragility.  “ curious. ” finally responding , fixated on the sight occurring before her. “ the world is nothing if not peculiar. ”

 swinging around a hefty sword came naturally —  almost too naturally , weaving his way through a swarm as though it were next to nothing. droplets of blood sliding down the curves of his face after being on the receiving end of another’s instrument. nothing about the situation was right , but the rush of adrenaline within him indicated that it might be routine on some level. ducking , sliding his knees through the dirt , and causing a nick in a pair of legs before bringing himself off the ground. it had been moments before approaching another ( a fellow warrior ? ) who seemed as caught up as he was.  “ I was going to suggest the same for you. ”  half-heartedly smiling.

“no offense,” anakin was already off to a bad start, his words meant to do the exact opposite, his eyebrows already furrowed, his nose crinkled and the corner of his lip turned upward into a smirk as he stepped closer to his unwitting companion. “but would you please shut up,” he added, placing a particular emphasis on the word please, turning the normally polite word into something that could only be described as vaguely threatening. had they been under other circumstances, he most likely would have walked away, choosing to end things before they got out of hand. but with everything going on in aurora, anakin found himself overcome with hostility. he was itching for an altercation, and it looked like he had found his opportunity. “in case you hadn’t noticed, you’re not the only person stuck here. so maybe, you could take a minute to think about someone other than yourself and just shut your mouth. because i can assure you, that your complaining is doing nothing to help.”

 attention shifted ; narrowing of the eyes , a swift flip of the hair to get a better look at the gentleman who so rudely burrowed their way into her conversation. a slight huff , a bit surprised at the confidence it must have took in order to not bite the tongue of the subject , and my how that would have been wiser.  “ I don’t recall asking for your opinion , sweets. ” lulling out the last word while taking a few daring steps forward as a half grin formed upon perfectly plumped lips. “ and I can assure you , you’re commentary is not doing much help either , is it ? ” purely rhetorical , “ now might I suggest you show a little more respect. ”

 exploring the unnerving  — talk about an unexpected twist to midday walk , or more truthfully lack thereof seeing as it did involve more lounging. dusty cushions , cobwebs descending from all corners , and the haunting chill which ran down her spine. not that she would openly admit or show a sense of being slightly worried about the paranormal which might lurk the decaying hallways. “ you’re the one who suggested it. ” pointing out , adding what could barely constitute as a shrug. “ you’ll see. ” a small crunching sound emerged while walking further inside , “ then again , it might just be a bunch of kids hiding out. ”

 She wore it now, her head held high. A sense of power, a sense of belonging pulsed through her as she “I think I’m really doing this crown justice.” Wearing it simply felt right. “I might never take it off.”

 there was an uncertainty ; light , maybe entangled with a hint of darkness surrounding the vivid images filling her mind. an unfamiliar item triggering things within that was hard to begin to understand , and maybe a little unsettling. it was those thoughts which led to an unprompted journey along the heated pavement. the need for a clear head seemed far too strong than her usual comfort of charcoal and parchment , then again , maybe it would have been better. an abrupt statement caused a quirk of a brow , “ that’s a good attitude to have. ” not really sure how to respond , “ uh , maybe not all of the time but it’s a nice accessory. ”

“ i wish things would go back to normal. you know, to the way they there were last week.” finn stated as he examined the oddly familiar, slightly worn leather jacket that he’d found the night before. honestly, hadn’t the weird nightmares that the political aide had been having recently been enough? apparently not. letting out a defeated sigh at the thought, finn shook his head. “ because i don’t have time for this right now. i don’t want to know what my nightmares mean, i’m not going to decode them and i want nothing to do with this.“ he gestured at the jacket. “ want a new jacket? ”

 blinking twice , a smile formed while attempting to understand what was being said in the first place. fixated , even feeling as if her own frustration was satisfied or within reason upon discovering something that had been lost.  “ oh , can’t do that. ” lowly raising two hands as if she were trying to push the jacket far away. “ okay , I didn’t mean for it to come out that way. ” admitting , stumbling on trying to find a response that would be suitable. “ not that I wouldn’t love it because it’s great , it really is. I just think that you should keep it. or second option , I can hold onto it until you’re ready to have it again. ”

 the beach ; irony , being separated from the warmth with the magical blanket of a stone ring —  protected by it. tormented by the everlasting craving of normalcy which would always be within finger tip touch length , but never fully within her grasp. thoughts lingered for a considerable moment before the hushed sound of a voice began to fill her ear drums , tearing her away from gloom. “ do I know of anyone engaged ? ” retorting back , nearly scoffing while doing so. something inside  — something within held a resemblance of a heartbreaking emotion tied into the thought of companionship. “ if i’m being honest , I do think it would be wise to hold on rather than give it out for charity. ” letting a breathless sigh escape , “ besides , who knows what the future holds. ”

 " oh !! ” eyes widened , attempting to cover up the mild dislike with a closed mouth smile and a small nod of the head. “ yeah , it’s pretty good. ” not wanting the negative response to cancel out the excitement the other seemed to show ; showcasing success , something which she didn’t want to crush. “ is there sugar in this ? I feel like it could use a bit of sugar. ” glancing around , trying to spot a form of refresher to wash the taste down. normally , she would want to be truthful but something inside urged her to sugarcoat , to not upset anyone today. “ it has potential. ”

 " a blender of emotions ? ” repeating back the words , a smile threatening to form on her lips while trying to comprehend the meaning. “ and I thought that I was dramatic. ” not being afraid of admitting to her own faults even though she preferred to walk tall , proud , and without doubting herself. but right now it wasn’t about her , and she was doing her best to comfort the other in her own way. “ don’t hold me on this , but I hear that thing’s can get better. I hear staying optimistic helps. ”
