                    scrutinizing   gaze   over   dark   ocean             the   only   familiar   thing   in   strange   world.     a   peculiar   comfort   in   familiar   push   and   pull.     in   a   dimension   with   creatures   that   lurk   in   the   shadows ,    there’s   no   such   thing   as   being   too   safe.     so   when   there’s   a   shift   in   energy ,    she   whips   around ,    heart   beating   fast   as   eyes   try   and   discern   whether   the   dark   figure   is   a   friend   or   enemy.     she   doesn’t   even   register   the   stream   of   water   that   darts   behind   head   of   curls.      ❝   what’s   there ?   ❞

                    water   stills   around   her   even   with   arms   and   legs   kicking   to   keep   body   afloat.     it’s   a   lovely   night :    not   to   cold   despite   the   fact   that   night   is   starting   to   settle   in.     instead ,    the   water   on   her   skin   fills   her   with   familiarity   and   it   brings   a   sweet   smile   to   lips.     firelight   from   the   bonfire   reflects   on   wet   features   as   body   swivels   around   to   face   the   man   on   the   shore ,    ❝   are   you   coming   in ?     the   water’s   perfect !   ❞

                              her   mind   is   her   own   ,   always   somehow   buried   deep   in   the   clouds   and   no   anchor   to   weigh   it   down   .     emily’s   true   shelter   must   be   with   the   GODS   ,   for   all   one   knows   .     ❛   OH   ——   !!   ❜     a   breath   ,   a   realization   ;   thrusting   her   back   to   gaia   in   mere   seconds   .     ❛   i   have   an   inkling   that   my   ancestors   are   trying   to   tell   me   something   .     hm   . . .     that   would   explain   a   lot   .   ❜          /          @rencgadcs​

                   ❝   seriously   dahlia ,    this   is   gorgeous !    ❞       dark   eyes   look   up   and   down   velvet   mannequin   where   DRESS   is   pinned   in   place.   lips   curve   into   a   smile   in   awe   of   woman’s   work   before   turning   back   to   face   the   designer.     ❝   it   looks   like   something   i’d   see   in   a   valentino   catalog !   ❞      

oh,  family  dinners.  they  were  a  staple  part  of  the  extensive  list  of  harding  family  traditions,  and  their  importance  to  her  parents  only  seemed  to  multiply  since  the  kids  had  grown  up  and  gone  off  on  their  own.  bella  was  usually  more  than  happy  to  go  along  with  them  for  the  benefit  of  her  parents,  and  a  night  spent  tossing  and  turning  from  her  ever-present  nightmares  and  a  long  day  at  work  managed  to  leave  her  feeling  a  little  less  than  enthused  over  the  idea  of  doing  anything  other  than  getting  the  sleep  she  so  DESPERATELY  needed.  she’d  almost  considered  cancelling  -  a  rarity  for   her  in  particular  -  before  figuring  she’d  never  hear  the  end  of  it  if  she  had,  and  yet  she  still  managed  to  show  up  late.  luckily,  her  parents  were  nowhere  in  the  vicinity  as  she  crept  in  the  front  door,  but  she  was  greeted  with  the  sight  of  her  sister  as  she  turned  the  corner  into  the  living  room.  “  sorry  i’m  so  late,  “  she  sighs,  pausing  in  the  entryway  to  kick  off  her  sneakers  and  drop  her  backpack  before  glancing  upwards  in  dahlia’s  direction.  “  i  totally  lost  track  of  time  at  work,  then  there  was  the  traffic  ...  “  the  mere  mention  of  it  elicits  an  exhausted  groan  as  she  trudges  her  way  into  the  living  room  to  flop  right  down  onto  the  couch.  “  i  didn’t  miss  anything  important,  did  i  ? "  she  could  only  hope  not  -  the  last  thing  she  needed  was  a  lecture  after  an  already  taxing  day.   /  @rencgadcs​
