&& zuko
“more than this,” zuko hadn’t even looked at the seasonal teas to see what he could offer. besides, there were the handcrafted iced green teas to add onto that but, he chose not to completely overwhelm the other with TEA of all things. “sure.” he left the teas on the counter in case spencer had some sort of desire to look through them. but, also, he left them there because he didn’t necessarily feel like putting them back, especially given how neatly he kept them in order for mornings where there was a bit of a rush. “hm. is that for school or did you decide that a medical book might be a fun read ?” he wouldn’t be surprised if the answer was a swift ‘both’ or just the latter. it sounded very much like a spencer thing to do. as he prepared the matcha, he added, “i’m proud of you. for remembering the name of a tea.”
“t-that’s a lot,” spencer managed to stammer, his eyes widening as he moved his head to survey the selection in front of him. if he had known just how many teas the other had to offer, he would have at least attempted to pick a specific type. but, his knowledge of tea was minimal, and perhaps it was for the best that he try multiple types, that way he would find his favorite. and, it didn’t hurt that the more time he spent trying teas, the more time he’d get to spend with zuko. still, he couldn’t prevent his cheeks from turning an embarrassing shade of red as he slowly retrieved a pen and notepad from his bag, ready to jot down notes about the various teas. “i thought it looked interesting,” he admitted, somewhat sheepishly, though he wasn’t sure why he was embarrassed, when he had always been quite open about his love of learning. “r-really?” he responded, obviously caught off guard by the other’s words, a small smile spreading across his face, “i like watching how it’s made,” he added.
