the situation with harry potter is kind of unprecedented in some ways imo because it is maybe the largest media franchise in history to be created & owned by a single person who still has direct creative control over it. who is also a billionaire with significant cultural/political influence. like the usual "no ethical consumption under capitalism" type excuses shatter on impact when the bigoted author in question is logging onto twitter every day saying explicitly that when you buy the tim hortons ravenclaw donut she is using your donut money to fund the genocide of trans people. like with big franchises usually there's at least a little more diffusion of responsibility than this

not every piece of art centered on a straight woman is "hetslop" and at some point it becomes misogyny to dismiss art abt women with that term

so tthis is a long shot ik but last year i somehow stumbled upon a tumblr that was a collection of Internet Archive links to old timey DS9 fanfiction not on AO3 and it had some good stuff. I've been craving a re-read of some of those stories but I can't remember the titles and I can't find the blog either. The only thing I remember is that it had some really old stories (like written in the 90s type of old) and it was categorised by character and pairing. and like, I didn't hallucinate this archive, right?? It exists?? Can someone please please PLEASE hook me up? Please I've been searching for days and I'm dying here
