#foul language

Chinese is one of those languages where curse words are so commonplace that they lose a bit of their bite, but nevertheless:

Not creatively. Not even recreationally.

Just functionally.

It was a verb:

– I fucked up.

– I’m fucking tired.

– They can fuck all the way off.

It was an adjective:

– This fucking day.

– This fucking email.

– This fucking guy.

It was a noun:

– What the fuck?

– Who the fuck?

– No fucks left.

At one point, I think it was even a punctuation mark.

Like: “I–fuck–can’t–fuck–do–fuck–this.”

So yeah. If words have a recommended daily allowance,

I exceeded mine.

My inner thesaurus has clocked out.

★ 𝐘𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐢-𝐞𝐮𝐧 ★ (𝙚𝙮𝙚 𝙩𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜):

On your first date, your boyfriend's eye started twitching unexpectedly, making it seem like he was winking. It turned out to be from exhaustion, which wasn't surprising since Yeon Si-Eun dedicates himself to studying. To avoid making him feel awkward, you suggested moving the date to your place so you could take care of him.

“Sorry, I ruined everything,” Si-Eun said, covering his twitching eye.

“Hey! It's okay! I'm happy to take care of you!” You gently removed his hand. “Here, drink some magnesium, and I'll get a blanket!” He did as you said. You returned with a warm blanket and chamomile tea. After he drank the tea, you fluffed the pillow, carefully placed his head on it, and covered him with the blanket. “All done! Now sleep!”

“Sleep with me.” Si-Eun pulled you close, covering you both with the blanket. Nuzzling into your collarbone, he closed his eyes and began to breathe deeply.

⍟ 𝐀𝐡𝐧 𝐒𝐮-𝐡𝐨 ⍟ (𝙣𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙣𝙤𝙨𝙚):

You and he decided to eat noodles. And you learned a lifelong lesson: don't tell jokes while eating. As soon as you say something funny, know this: food will fly in all directions. After your joke, Ahn Su-Ho laughed for a long time, and then noodles flew out of his nose. An awkward silence fell between you.

“Turn away!” he shouts, trying to get a piece of the flour product with a napkin.

“I think you should blow your nose,” you say, not looking at the guy. Su-Ho abruptly jumped up from his chair and ran to the restroom.

“Fuck! Shit!” You clearly heard what he was thinking about the situation. I think your boyfriend won't eat in front of you anymore.

✪ 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐇𝐮-𝐦𝐢𝐧 (𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐮) ✪ (𝙨𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜):

He loves to laugh, especially at your jokes, even if they don't make others smile. You know how it is when you fall in love? Even the most ordinary letter “x” can seem hilarious. Your dates always take place at your place: you stock up on a mountain of sweets and watch some comedy, like "Dumb and Dumber."

“What idiots…” you say, watching another ridiculous movie. If you're shocked by the characters' actions, Park Hu-Min, on the other hand, is literally rolling on the floor laughing, clutching his stomach and shaking with convulsions.

“Haha-oink!” that strange sound made you both freeze. “Oh,” your boyfriend mumbled, slowly getting up from the floor.

“Well, you are such a… piglet,” you shook your head, gently tugging at his chubby cheek. He was not so much embarrassed as surprised by his own outburst. The rest of the evening, Hu-Min stayed close to you, silent and subdued, as if fearing that his vocal cords would surprise him again.

✩ 𝐆𝐨 𝐇𝐲𝐮𝐧-𝐭𝐚𝐤 (𝐆𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐤) ✩ (𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙬 𝙪𝙥 𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪):

First dates are always filled with anticipation. So many unknowns: will the joke land, will the food be bad, or perhaps the girl is allergic to flowers? These thoughts had been swirling in Go Hyun-Tak's head for a month, until you confessed your love and asked him out. He felt incredibly strange when you, literally dragging him behind the school, pinned him against the wall and uttered the three cherished words he had longed for “I love you.”

However, you didn't account for one thing — Hyun-Tak gets motion sickness on roller coasters. Seeing where you'd brought him, he gave a nervous smile. Of course, he wouldn't show his fear in front of you, but once you were seated, the restraints would lower, and the entire roller coaster contraption would start moving, that's when you'd understand why Gotak had been stalling.

“HOLY SHIT!” your boyfriend yelled, gripping the restraints. You pressed against him in shock, trying to calm him, but it wasn't helping. When the ride did a loop, Hyun-Tak covered his mouth with both hands, desperately trying to hold back vomit.

“Damn it…” you whispered, patting his back. “Hold on, honey, not much longer.” He shook his head uncertainly at your words.

When the ride stopped, Gotak, stumbling and leaning on you, tried to reach a trash can. You stroked his back in circles, looking for the nearest bin or restroom. He couldn't hold it in any longer and accidentally threw up all over you. While he was vomiting, you patted his back in shock and tightly held the necklace you had recently given him.

“Oh... fuck…” Realizing what had happened, the guy immediately apologized and ran off, leaving you with splattered sneakers. After this incident, Hyun-Tak locked himself at home and stopped answering calls. That's why you're now sitting at his house, drinking tea with his mom and glancing sideways at the embarrassed guy who's afraid to look you in the eye.

✶ 𝐒𝐞𝐨 𝐉𝐮𝐧-𝐭𝐚𝐞 ✶ (𝙛𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪):

For several days, your boyfriend hasn't left the house, refusing meetings and other activities due to diarrhea brought on by stress. Constant arguments have brought him to a state where he can't leave the toilet. He can't even go to the hospital, so doctors come to him.

Diagnosed with IBS, the doctor prescribed him sedatives and other anti-diarrhea medication.

Since he ignored your calls and messages, you went to his house yourself. His parents welcomed you warmly and wanted to set the table, but you simply said you wanted to visit Jun Tae and wouldn't be eating. You sat on the sofa and started chatting as if you were already their daughter-in-law. Suddenly, a strange sound was heard. Turning your head, you noticed Jun Tae emerging from the toilet with a pained expression and passing gas. You covered your innocent smile with your hand and stood up so he would notice you.

“Jun Tae, how…” As soon as he heard your voice, he practically flew into his room to avoid being seen. “Are you?... Well,” you addressed your boyfriend's mother, “if he feels better, please…” Jun Tae's cry of self-reproach was heard. “Please tell him to call me.”

The pale gold orb hovered closer to Lloyd, a soul timidly searching him out to ensure he was friendly. After the agony of existing bodiless for so long, Lloyd could understand their hesitation.

He cleared his throat, ready to make a comforting little speech about how they were safe now, he’d managed to rescue them, and he would continue on tirelessly until he could rescue the other souls entrapped within Thunderfang’s mighty jaws. As the Green Ninja, Lloyd knew a thing or two about speeches.

The gold orb spun once slowly, a ballerina perfecting their pirouette. But instead of turning a distinct human color, the yellow hue deepened into a pale, sickening green. Long, almost greasy black hair slicked down to the person’s shoulders. His eyes were hollow and heavily circled, ragged clothing draping over his bony form.

Lloyd subconsciously backed away from the ghost. His cousin. His tormentor.

Morro’s eyebrows shot up his forehead. “Somebody finally hit puberty.”

Lloyd’s pre-planned speech disappeared, and instead the only thing he could mutter was, “S**t.”

The shock faded from Morro’s expression, replaced by something akin to bemused sympathy. “And learned some foul language too, I see.”

“I think it’s safe to say we rubbed off on him.” Harumi flipped her long white hair over her shoulder, prowling to stand cockily in front of Lloyd. “But where are my manners? You must be Morro.”

When he entered the room, it took him a minute to even find Solar. He’d expected to find the orange bastard sleeping on the couch, but that spot was rather pointedly empty of any animatronics. No, the stupid fuck had decided to go sit on the floor and plug into a wall. Not because the charging cords didn’t reach– Moon knew for a fact that they did –but for reasons that Moon’s tired mind couldn’t possibly fathom. He ran a hand down his faceplate, groaning.
