They find a cute little apartment across town

The whole process is kinda chaotic

Steve gets really stressed out because how and why does he have so much shit

Dustin comes over to help pack up all of Steve’s stuff

They spend more time goofing off than packing

Steve gives Dustin a bunch of his old comics and figurines

Billy is really happy that he finally gets to move out and he’s done packing within three days

They have to rent a UHaul because neither of their cars are big enough to carry all of their stuff

He has so many records oh my god

“Seriously, who needs that many records?”

“Excuse me for liking music, Steven”

Billy also has a huge pin collection and will flip his shit if any of them go missing

Steve makes sure that the pins are in a box full of his sweaters so that none of them get broken

It actually doesn’t take them that long to put everything in the apartment

Unpacking is a totally different story

Billy insists on having a Metallica poster in the kitchen and Steve is so done

They eat takeout every night because they haven’t even been grocery shopping

Steve’s favorite room is their bedroom

It’s such a combination of him and Billy and he loves it because he loves Billy

He realizes they just have a mattress and some stretched out, ugly sheets

He wants new ones

There are a lot of trips to the furniture store

They actually find some really cool lamps and some nice navy sheets

They have to keep coming back because wow furniture sure is big when it’s stuffed in the back of Steve’s BMW

“Jesus Billy, we don’t need a couch that big”

“Babe, listen, babe think about all the things we could do”

Steve is the creator of the dad sigh™ and just walks away to go look at bedding

Eventually, they settle on a couch and it is hell to move up the stairs

They have their apartment set up by Christmas, complete with Billy’s record player and Steve’s nail bat

“Because it’s fucking cool god william”

The kids come over for Christmas on Christmas Eve because why not

It’s fun and Steve makes cookies

He’s such a dad

The kids love their apartment (even the poster in the kitchen)

Billy and Steve love where they live and they love each other

•steve being a more right-brained person who is super good at art, explaining why he pretty much sucks at everything else school related

•steve not knowing what to do with this love because no one has ever told him you can actually do stuff with an art degree

•he has hundreds and hundreds of drawings and doodles of all the kids when he babysits for them, carefully-crafted snapshots of nancy and jonathan, charcoal sketches of the woods and the buildings around hawkins

•(self-portraits of his blooded face and knuckles, eyes angry and pencil lines shaky with pain)

•he draws the demogorgon as best he can from his fear-stricken memories, then the demo-dogs in scary detail, his hands shaking as he draws to get the images out of his head

•he subconsciously draws billy after the other apologizes about everything, and it becomes a Thing

•he manages to draw billy without the other ever noticing—the upturn of his nose, his thick lashes and clear eyes, his curly blonde hair—and has a guilty sketchbook filled with snaps of the other

•it’s a little embarrassing how fixated he is on perfecting any drawing or doodles he starts of the other, but Billy is just so pretty with the soft lines of his face contrasting his toned body

•the first time billy goes in his room, steve has a portrait of him on his desk and he crumples it up before Billy notices and hides it in his sock drawer

•the other doesn’t even have any idea of what’s crumpled in Steve’s drawer because he’s staring at the drawing-plastered walls in awe

•”you know you can really do some shit with this type of stuff… like they have all kinds of art programs at College”

•Billy finds it really funny that Steve doesn’t know this but explains that you can actually do art and make money off of it

•”you could totally have a comic or something with those scary monsters you keep drawing—they’re weird by the way”

•steve no longer felling so helpless and lost in trying to find his way in life because he can suddenly has options to do what he wants???? what he’s passionate about???

•Steve has a spot in his room dedicated to his Friends and Billy definitely takes notice

Here’s my thoughts on the matter.

Billy just moved from California. Homosexuality was relatively common on the west coast, especially along California during this time. Unfortunately, it was not for good reasons (i.e., the spread of AIDS). But people knew about it, people knew that some people were just gay.

Billy would’ve been surrounded by these people, by these conversations, basically ever since he was first born. He’d know about it. So when he inevitably started feeling something for a guy he’d be able to pinpoint what he was feeling. He’d recognize it. He’d know that this was something that people felt and no, he wasn’t insane for feeling it (despite what his dad might tell him).

Then, we have Steve. As is to be expected, Hawkins is a pretty conservative town due to it’s small size. And from what the show has suggested, Hawkins is very small. I would honestly be surprised if more than 1000 people lived there. As far as we know, Steve has lived in Hawkins for his entire life, he was born there.

Now, when Steve is coming to terms with his sexual orientation, there is no one around saying “oh yeah, being gay is a thing”. No one is providing him with terminology. No one would ever bring up the term “bisexuality” and no one would dare bring up the AIDS crisis in the US at the moment that is mainly impacting people in the gay community.

So Steve locks it away. Figures he’s confused. Hides it. Until someone finally comes across his path, someone by the name of Billy Hargrove. 

The dashing, maddeningly attractive young man from California, who drives his car way too fast and wears jeans that are far too tight. And Steve finds himself feeling things that he had locked away for so long.

Spoiler alert, Billy feels it too. He’s sure to try to get under Steve’s skin, play rough, call him embarrassing things, mock him. Only to try to get a reaction out of him. When Steve doesn’t deliver, Billy gets disappointed and decides to make random references to homosexuality around Steve while Steve grows more and more uncomfortable.

And then, it finally boils over. Steve snaps and gets sick of Billy saying these things, gets sick of feeling them too. Because it’s wrong. Because he knows it’s not normal.

Until it is. Until Billy tries to convince him it is and it’s okay to feel attracted to the same gender and explains to Steve that it’s perfectly normal and he’s not some insane person.

He called a meeting of 4 teenagers(he didn’t knew what Barb would come too) as it was some cool party, while they just drunk some beer and did typical romantic teen stuff, and later he was panicking what his parents would find out what they was drinking beer and would murder him, because his dad is a grade A asshole

Erm did you saw his pastel preppy looks, I mean, I love it, but he more dresses up like a good golden boy than a cool guy

The way how awkwardly he sneaked to Nancy. Mike wasn’t amused

As a boyfriend, he is clingy, cheesy and needy(as Joe said), and Nancy described him as “cute”

Immediately concluded that Nancy was cheating with Jonathan as he saw them in the Nancy room, and it’s not how a self-confident person acting

Jonathan Byers beat him and honesty. Steve had no chance

He almost had a fight with Tommy too, but Tommy pinned him to a car and said what if he couldn’t even win a fight with Byers and he surely wouldn’t win this fight, and Steve just silently drove away while Tommy screamed Run away Stevie boy, as you always do

Joe admits in the interview himself what he always sensed from the beginning what Steve is kind of insecure

Im think he panicked about Upside Down monsters more than anyone in show
