I just know he'd spend weeks reeling in his feelings and anguish over the way someone makes him feel- heart fluttering, red ears, fist to his chest like he's having an anginal attack - before he even thought to admit maybe he likes someone. and then itd take him at least as long to actually make those feelings known. The subject of his affections probably has to make the first move tbh
