I want every commenter to know how much "I don't know this fandom but the characters are so well written/this is so hot/I love what you wrote/etc." means to a fic writer (or at least this one), especially when that fandom is a small one. Putting a fic out there in a small fandom can be so hard because there's always the worry that either 1. you'll stand out for having the wrong interpretations of a character/what you're writing goes too much against the vibe or tone of canon/you'll be harassed for having the audacity to combine your niche kinks with your niche fandom, or 2. no one will care. And that isn't to downplay the commenters who are in the fandom who like your brain ideas. What I'm trying to say is that the fact that a thing I wrote can be good enough to transcend fandom barriers, that even if I'm not writing in a big fandom or writing what's mainstream for my fandom, someone outside of it read what I wrote and liked it enough to comment, despite the fact that they don't know the fandom??? Please please please, whether or not you're in the fandom, comment on that fic. It will make the writer's day.
