I hope you've all been reading and enjoying Homophrosyne , the new Shinkane zine that I helped mod and draw/write for!!!

This was the drawing I made for my Omake; It is very self indulgent with the sleeping and pastels haha

Homophrosyne (ὁμοφροσύνη)

Origin: 'The Odyssey'

Definition: “like-mindedness,” something that forms a bond between Odysseus and Penelope. Even though Penelope does not know when she will see him again, she is faithful to her marriage. Odysseus, gone for many, many years, dreams of returning to his estate and his wife, making their final reunion all the more special.

As a Zine, Homophrosyne aims to explore the like-mindedness of Psycho-Pass’s Akane Tsunemori and Shinya Kogami. Two versions are now live, SFW and NSFW! In addition, we have also included both forms in a printable format!

As an extra bonus, we also have the cover illustration up for download.

A lot of love, hard work, and dedication went into the artwork and writing compiled into this collection. From the mod team and contributors, we hope you all enjoy it to the fullest!

Two People Thinking or Feeling Alike

A Psycho-Pass Shinkane eZine

We are immensely excited to announce our project entitled Homophrosyne, an all-new Shinkane eZine.

As well as being a handy title, it’s also our theme. Homophrosyne references two people who can both think and/or feel alike; two peas in a pod, two birds of a feather, two people who are 100% ride or die. Odysseus to Penelope, Bonnie to Clyde. So, who better to use it for than Psycho-Pass’s own characters Shinya Kogami and Akane Tsuenmori?

The only requirement for this zine is that you figure out how this applies to the two of them. Do they get the other just the kind of coffee they like? Do they already know what the other will say about something without even asking? Do they have a conversation in just a brief look that makes Gino confounded? It’s all up to you.

We’re aiming to do a dual release for this zine, SFW and NSFW. Think of them as the daytime and nighttime in your own inspiration; what happens during the day can get spiced up at night.

You must be 18 or older to apply to the NSFW zine.

There are so many options, guys. We’re so excited to see what you decide to do.

To celebrate our 10th year, we asked a bunch of you some questions about being a part of the Shinkane fandom. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be posting your answers. 

Today, we are featuring @whatsyourcolor, a community fan writer.

Tell us about the first time you watched Psycho-Pass. 

I first watched Psycho-Pass ages ago when it was available on Netflix. I wasn’t too much into anime but stuck with it until the tenth episode. Then I was completely absorbed by the story and the philosophy in the show. Since then, I’ve rewatched it countless times.

Kogami and Tsunemori have an interesting dynamic. What about it interests you?

I think he’s a mysterious character and I see how that would fascinate someone like Akane. The role of mentor/mentee is part of it, but there’s something about Kogami’s loneliness that’s compelling. Akane being intrigued by someone who’s considered the “worst of society” while her hue is so pure is the most delicious contrast.

Psycho-Pass has an anime, a manga, a game, and the novels. From all of that, what is your fave canon Shinkane scene? 

The fighting scene in the PP movie. Akane is looking for Kogami, but he surprises her and she doesn’t even flinch. Neither does he, despite recognizing her. He sees how much she’s grown and how she is now at his level as a detective. 

Which Shinkane work are you the proudest of?

I’ve invested a lot of time in writing Dragnet and The Past Recaptured. They’re imperfect works, but they’re both sincere. I felt deeply writing both. I wish I wasn’t such a slow writer so I could advance both stories. I’ve written them a million times in my head. 

Music can be an influential part of your process. What song(s) do you listen to that have influenced your work? 

Songs about obsession and dark, overtaking love with an intimate atmosphere. The atmosphere is everything, more than the words.

About me? I’m Colombian. 

What is your favorite part about being in the Shinkane fandom?

I love that, although we are a small fandom, we are very passionate which is probably why we get into fights so often. 

We have strong opinions about this show. 

What are your hopes for Shinkane in future seasons?

Everything felt conclusive at the end of season 3. 

Unless you know something I don’t know. Hehe.
