"I mean, come on," Meredith picks up a shot and downs it before continuing, "how hard is it to put in a central line?" She rolls her eyes and gestures kindly to the bartender to pour her another one, smiling at him and thanking him when she receives it. That's the thing about Meredith Grey: even when she's having a bad day, she never takes it out on anyone else... or at least she tries not to. "...I miss Cristina... and Alex, and Izzie... George..." She trails off, then, as if remembering who she's talking to, turns to the other person. "What about you? Do you remember your life before... this?"

(¸.• ♛ → "uh?" she turned around to look at the woman that was next to her. honestly she was happy that things are now okay with apple, it was perfect so now she decided to stay here and drink something just having a good time, trying to be independent for a bit, at least. "before being here? yes, of course. even the bad parts but i prefer on the good parts of my life. why? you don't?"

nolan chuckled at the other's words. he hadn't heard that in quite awhile. it didn't come as a surprise to him that the first time he experienced it in years would be after he woke up in dc with no recollection of how he wound up there. “ i'll give you my id as custom dictates , but just so you know .... i am a bartender , too , ” he told her. he pulled out his wallet and grabbed his id, sliding it across the bar to her. “ there you go. happy ? ”

(¸.• ♛ → it was part of the protocol, of course, if she thinks someone looks a bit younger and just like that so when he shows that to her, she looks at it for a second and then slides that back. "ecstatic, thanks." the blonde looks at him. "so, what can i get you?"

"Wow. It's like some weird movie I used to fall asleep too." Finn chuckled, shaking his head. "Well, so we're in DC and most of us have no clue how we even got here? How does that even happen?"

(¸.• ♛ → "if you want to see it like this." she says with a small shrug, she was getting used to this but is not like she was loving it. "you are asking questions that i have no idea since we don't even know how we got here so...don't."

he knew he might be too confident sometimes. that's how he always have been. however hadn't he been all the time around nancy. not after he hurt her, wasn't a good boyfriend in the past. might be why he tries to do everything more romantic in dc. to make up for everything he didn't do in the past ❝ glad you do ❞ he teased, smiled. surprise her, alright, he must do it good then. he didn't want to see her get disappointed ❝ give me an hour to fix everything ― and i can pick you up when i finished everything. how does that sound? ❞

(¸.• ♛ → she didn't mind anything that he does because is not like nancy was expecting something really big, what she expects is just to spend time with him but it was just cute how he was putting so much efford and she feels nice that he was taking care of her. the brunette gave her a small kiss now and nodded. "sounds perfect to me." she says with a small smile. "i will fix myself too and wait for you."

Finnick couldn't get over his giddiness for this date. "How about this? We out away our groceries and then meet back here in two hours for our date?" Had he known he would be going on a date, he would've dressed nicer. Now he was giving himself the chance to go home and change.

(¸.• ♛ → it was a nice opportunity to ask her babysitter to help her out and that they could watch oliver for a while now and she could also leave her grocery in her place as well. annie smiled at him and nodded. "sounds perfect to me." she replies. "that way i can also leave all of this at home, then, see you in two hours?"

One thing that La'An couldn't get used to in this century was these old human habits. They were grateful that most of humanity had given up cigarettes by the time they were born. "Sorry, I don't smoke." She replied with a polite smile and a head shake. "Are you feeling nervous about someting?"

(¸.• ♛ → the blonde looked at the other one, a small sigh escaped from her lips, it sucks, it was just like her proper self mechanism, something that she needs to do when she feels anxiety. "that's fine, thanks though." there was nothing wrong about asking, after all. "something like that, but i guess it is nothing too important, it's just...something i used to do when i'm like this."

❝ yeah yeah, you are right ❞ simon replied, smiled ❝ you are too smart to trying to convince any of that could be real ❞ he let out a laugh, and continued to smile a brief second later ❝ it is good movies. despite things not being real. it can be relaxing watching silly movies that doesn't make sense. there's a funny one, they are named twilight. the vampires there sparkle, i watched a bit of it, and it just made me laugh ❞ he didn't understand it, but he laughed the entire time. why didn't he know, they weren't funny ❝ well, that's good then. feeling special. and so are you, special ❞ he said. thought she was, from the first time he met her a few minutes ago. or had it gone hours now? he doesn't know what the time was ❝ don't be. it'll come other jobs. maybe i will start to focus on my music more and see how that works out. what do you do, do you have a job? ❞

"i try to." she says with a teasing tone now, at least they were able to talk like this, he wasn't pushing her away so that was good, she was thankful about this. "i haven't really seen that but i might, that sounds silly. i can't really imagine but i guess it could be funny to watch that." all the movies that simon used to recommend her in the past were actually pretty good, of course. "you think? i'm glad you do." at least maybe the connection was there. "you do music? that's great, i hope i can hear you one day. yes, besides being shadowhunter full time, i work in the white house as security." it was a simple way to put it.
