My only issue with the pilot is that there's a lot of references to mf eroticism and it's depicted as potentially natural and freeing, if you love someone, which is cool and works as it's done... but in a story with such a large, close knit homosocial group of women, there's not even a passing neutral, let alone positive, recognition of ff eroticism. That would be part of Bene Gesserit life, as it's been part of life in irl nun convents and women's colleges etc! It's an inevitable part of homosocial cultural spaces.
When Tula and Valya are going over the girls' records they could have casually said two girls are "particularly close" or in the dorms you could have shown a passing moment - a lingering glance or touch of a hand between two women. There's so many quiet ways to include it.
This is a particular issue since Frank Herbert was such a committed homophobe he rejected one of his sons for being gay. And the Baron in the books was a blatant homophobic stereotype. When adjusting his work, there's an obligation to do something on that front imo.
I'm talking both in terms of accurate worldbuilding *and* representation. I hope future episodes at least in a passing and neutral way mention it. Gay people don't have to be the focus, but we exist. Mention it in passing.
