Sorry for double posting but APPARENTLY those commission scammers have showed up on Tumblr at least for the first time for me.

For those who don’t know what I am talking about, there were/are commission scams going on in Instagram and even places like Artstation where people would pretend to be interested in your work and try to commission a pet or portrait for the sake of trying to get your bank details. Here’s how to (somewhat) sniff them out:

1- They don’t seem to be an average customer/ person that would be involved in your fandom, or has a blank template for an account or don’t even follow you.

2- They ask you to draw a portrait or a pet picture either for themselves or their children/family.

3- They promise to overpay you (in the hundreds) and do not listen to you even if you firmly state the price is cheaper.

4- They are constantly asking for your email name, or private details regarding things like banking details or passwords or other private information others should not know.

5- They try and over reassure you they mean no harm, try to guilt you into giving them the info, or become aggressive over you not giving them what they want.

at least i got to draw these cute dogs :)

jokes aside i hope you are doing well. just asking for some advice- any tips for like running a pmd blog? especially with asks but just more essential things for the blog to work. thanks !!

(also !!! team donum is one of my biggest motivators and inspirations for this silly blog im working on. uhm. and you're like awesome and cool too :3 so. woo!!)

Advice/tips time YIPPEEE

HAVE FUN!! Be as indulgent as you want, make anyone as powerful as you want, break the rules of pmd even! Bonus points if you incorporate that into ✨️lore✨️ HEHEE

On the topic of having fun, be gentle with yerself :3 ye're taking up a big project, so cut corners if you need/want to!! You can always redo it later!! Like how Team Donum started off with extremely simple coloring!! That was to actually let myself get the pages put out there >:3

Running an ask blog can be hard, cause a lot of it relies on the audience to send asks! So to get around that: always have a fun plan to do if you get too little asks or none >:3c asking friends to help if they can (in sending asks) can be fun too!!

You can always give hints about what kinds of asks will push the story forward/reveal LORE!! Very normal for ask blogs to do, I think they're called ask hints? Hmm doesn't sound quite right but it's something like that!!

Make sure you have good organization!! I used to reblog pmd things to my ask blog, but that cluttered it a bit fgdb. So now I reblog those to my main, and keep everything Team Donum related on the blog teehee!!

Sometimes working on pages/answers will sound not fun, but if you think that you want it to be done still, gently get yourself to still make the page! It's okay if it's not fun at first, cause usually it becomes fun by the end!

But if it DOESN'T become fun, consider taking a break and/or doodling your characters! Figuring out how to make it fun will be yer task when this happens, and I'm certain you can do it >:3!! (And sometimes all that is required is just a break hehee!!)

For me, having deadlines really helps me motivate myself to make pages! Especially with only posting twice a week: that means I can have a really good backlog!

Speaking of backlogs!! Before you start, make sure you have a good backlog :D it helps with keeping it fun, and it also just feels really nice :3 (and ✨️professional✨️)

This part's hard, but if you ever get an ask that upsets you/messes with your story way too much (like godmodding), just ignore it. You don't need to answer every ask, especially if it would create tension between you and the askers. You want both sides to be having fun!! <333

Usually this doesn't happen though! Almost all the time the askers are real sweeties <333

Last of all, HAVE FUN!! HEHEE I know I keep repeating it, but truly the biggest thing!! YIPPEE
