Q: If you look at your instagram (aileeonline) you will see rather than pretty stage outfits, more comfortable sports shoes or baseball caps.

A: Normally I wear more casual clothing. Clothes are the best when pretty and comfortable. On stage, I wear more extravagant clothing so normally I don’t wear skirts too much. Sometimes I want to wear feminine pink clothing but when I open my closet, its all black. I like pink but my hands unknowingly gravitate toward black clothes. Black makes my body look slimmer so I like it.

Q: When did you first know about Michael Kors?

A: It is a well known brand in the USA, so its familiar to me since I was young. Michael Kors puts together casual and smart together very well so I think its a well loved brand for females in their 20-30s. I like wearing watches and I especially like Michael Kors watch line. Depending on my mood, I wear thin or thick ones.

Q: Recently, you went to New York for a performance. Is there anything memorable?

A: The sound system suddenly shut down during my performance! I was not flustered and performed “Mind Your Own Business” without music. The dancers followed my singing. I think thats why the response from the audience was hotter than usual. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that moment. The audience seemed to support me more so I was very thankful. After the performance, I went back to my house in New Jersey and it was the first time I felt like I had finished my work. It had been 5 years since I went back to my hometown. But I had to go back to work 3 days later.

Q: How does Ailee define beauty?

A: Women are the most beautiful when they show confidence and attitude. I think ego and confidence are similar words in Korean but I believe that you have to believe in yourself first before you slowly gain confidence and beauty. The reason why Beyonce is really a beautiful lady. She has always been my role model. Not only does she show confidence and skill on stage, but as a person herself, isn’t she cool?
