A Ladder to Sadness

so I've only watched it through once more with minimal pausing, and am now rewatching to try to catch more stuff, and I haven't like been on reddit or anything to see what anyone else is catching, so this's what I'm just now thinking I'm seeing:

so when he finds the first "skeleton", something happens that rocks the sub. the skeleton doesn't seem to be Elli. I haven't done a side-by-side comparison but I'm assuming it's the frog monster thing that kills you in the game. Then, when he goes back down and finds it again...this part is so cool and I totally didn't see it the first two times. When he says "something's not right" he raises his hands like he's miming jaws closing on something...and yeah, it looks like Elli has the other creature in her mouth, but she's really out of focus so it's hard to see. It's very spooky. He's so scared he doesn't want to admit what he's seeing.

So anyway, that means she 1) grabbed the frog-fish-thing to maybe stop it from game-over'ing Simon 2) did nothing when he was dropped in front of her, and even when he plows into the other monster it's not clear if she actually causes the sub to drop (did they actually cut the line? idk I'll have to rewatch) 3) when he then falls in front of her AGAIN in the tunnel system, she politely scoots backwards to let him through the narrow passage.
