Hannah Montana is fucked up because its entire POINT as a show is that children should be protected from fame and exploitation, but it stars a REAL little girl that's being exploited. Nearly every episode carries the looming threat of Miley being outed as Hannah and losing her peaceful teenage life to the ravages of fame. Her father in the show (played by her own father in real life) wisely protected her from the trauma of fame by making her wear a disguise and live a rather quiet, interview-free life. Meanwhile the REAL Billy Ray Cyrus sold his daughter to Disney Channel when she was 11 and forced her to read dialogue about how terrible it would be to face the public eye. Like... Jesus, dude. The fictional Robby Ray is 10x the father, and it's not even close. (It's also IMMENSELY funny that her dad doesn't use his real name in the show, while she does. Almost like he wanted a bit of a disconnect between his identity and his character. Something Miley didn't get.)

any criticism that was thrown at qatar in 2022 should be thrown a million-fold at the us. i say qatar in particular because the same people who called for a boycott of the 2022 wc are the ones completely silent over the fact that the us is an imperialist settler colony that should be boycotted regardless of the event. the us bombs children and it's fine to cheer for men kicking ball. yeah alright

"qatar does human trafficking" so does the us "qatar used slave labor" so does the us "qatar has a repressive regime" so does the us and it impacts the entire globe "qatar violates human rights" it's easier to make a list of the times the us hasn't violated human rights and that list is a blank sheet of paper

not to be a joyless hag but I've started seeing genderbent "yuri" shipping Markiplier and Ryan Gosling and I can't help but think of someone I recently I unfollowed for posting that they have an easier time caring about genderbent versions of boy characters than regular fictional women

and I'm also building some connections to that post I made about reading books by Black women (you know the one) and the people who would respond by saying something akin to "joke's on you, I only read fanfic 😜" as if that were some kind of clever loophole and not a demonstration of the exact thing I was talking about

like yes fandom is about fun or whatever but idk man at what point has your desire for no thoughts head empty uncritical consumption left you splashing around in something that's been blended down to an indistinguishable goo for the sake of avoiding anything remotely challenging. with the thing that's "challenging" here being. you know. giving a shit about women and Black people and like frankly anyone but your shippable white men (and honorary Markiplier).

I’m just saying if Daniel Radcliffe, the literal protagonist of the Harry Potter franchise since the age of ten years old, was able to disavow JK Rowling and move on from the HP universe then actually what the fuck is anyone else’s excuse. There is no one else on the planet who can say their entire childhood was HP more than that guy and he still cared about trans people more than the average tumblr user who says “we’re protesting by making all her characters queer and trans!!” like you can do better. You should do better.

People will write a five page "summary" of their novel that tells me nothing about the plot other than that it has totally gay Y2K T4T Southern gothic transmasc cottagecore enemies to lovers buzzword vibes only for the actual contents of the book to be less diverse and inclusive and compelling than the line, "All of my friends were jealous, except my blind friends," from hit Neil Cicierega song "Really Cool Wig".

We need help this week. We have no food and we need shelter from this heat. My wife and I are both sick and in pain and I'm so burnt out. We've been struggling more and more each month and our normal support groups have all collapsed. It's devastating. Any help is appreciated.

if i were in charge of star wars i would end the last movie witth yoda reading the story out of a big book and he gives a little chuckle and says "happened, none of that did." and then he gets out of his truck and waddles into walmart
