I don't have a screen-capture of it, unfortunately, but I did have my friend test while she was playing the game and streaming it for me a few years ago, and she could stand at any point in the Fade levels and see at least one copy in the sky. Sometimes more than one, and sometimes at different angles. And we know this is the Black City thanks to the comic Until We Sleep:

The same island is depicted and identified there.

Unfortunately, I don't know if it's visible in Dragon Age 2; I can't remember if the sky is ever visible the one (?) time we get to visit the Fade.

Finding it in Dragon Age: Inquisition is more difficult, to the point that I'm not confident I've found it at all, but the internet claims it's in this screenshot:

I've also definitely seen the argument that we can't see it in DAI because we're standing on it, or at least one far tip of it. (Given what we know of it in Veilguard, I'm glad we never set foot inside the City proper then.) This screenshot at least feels like the Black City could be there, just largely concealed by the fog or mist or maelstrom in the sky.

We also don't see it in the Crossroads during Trespasser, but I always assumed that, because the Crossroads were sort of "carved out" of the Fade itself, that there was something—a barrier of some sort—blocking the view of the rest of the Fade. Which is fine.

So let me tell you, when I fired up Dragon Age: the Veilguard for the first time and entered the Crossroads, you can bet I looked for the Black City, just in case.

And I was not disappointed. I took screenshots.

Just on Beacon Island alone, we've got a view near the dock to the Converged City:

Sure, the shape isn't exactly the same, but it was, what, fifteen years between clear in-game depictions? And the general idea is still there, really; it's just lacking it's spindly little arms to either side.

The Converged City has a similar angle on it, just less obscured. Here it is, with the Lighthouse (Beacon Island) also visible:

The fun thing is the two are generally visible in the same shot when you aren't taking the photos from Beacon Island itself (for obvious reasons).

I caught two shots in Elvhenan's Haven:

From two slightly different spots (I believe the first is near the eluvians and the second at the other end where you have to clear a champion gate to get through, but not the one with the Revenant fight). This island is interesting because its dock isn't on the side facing Beacon Island, so I had to get my bearings first to find the Lighthouse and the Black City, but there they were.

And then, on the Heights of Athim, you kind of have to find an angle above the buildings to see:

The first shot is in the area with the eluvians. The second is, I believe, near the blight tree.

But that's not the only thing. There are two other somewhat secret (late-game reveal) spots that you only get if you're following two of the Crossroads quest lines. So spoilers, I guess.

This first is in an area called Nest of the Ancients, which you get access to as part of "Regrets of the Dread Wolf":

It's tricky to get the built-in camera mode to a height where you can see it, but there it is, peeking over the rock on the right. Also, the beacon of the lighthouse to the left.

And then there's another spot on Beacon Island itself that unlocks if you follow "The Heart of Corruption," and this spot gives the clearest view:

I'm sure it means nothing.... 😏

Anyway, beyond appreciating that the Black City is literally visible from any island in the Crossroads, I'm not sure what else this post is really for other than showing off the screenshots I took, but eh, that's fine with me.

Also, interesting note: the Black City (or any other part of the Crossroads) is not visible within the Lighthouse itself, despite the Lighthouse being on Beacon Island. You can see its beam from the other islands, just like you can from the Lighthouse courtyard. All I can figure is that my headcanon for why we don't see the Black City in Trespasser applies here too: protections or barriers of some sort, the kind that allow for safety and comfortable living in the Lighthouse, also block the view.
