Holiday Look #1 is this vampy lip and bronzed eye. Naturally I would try and do something festive and end up with this, haha. The lip colour is from the Kylie Cosmetics holiday edition collection so I think that’s enough to classify this as a “festive” look.

Eyes: NYX Cosmetics “Beauty School Dropout” palette in “Nude” on the lids, Lancôme “Black Coffee” liner smudged on the upper lash line, and Essence “I <3 Extreme” mascara (the best mascara ever BTW)

Face: Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation in “Warm Tan”, Essence Silky Touch Blush in “Babydoll”, and Hard Candy Baked Bronzer in “Tiki” as a highlight

Before I change your morning routine forever, I must apologize because its been WAY too long since I posted on here! I hate making excuses but the past few months have been crazy busy for me, especially since I started my final year of university. (can I get an amen?)

But I thought what better way to jump back into things then to share with you some of the products have been helping me save time when I’m getting ready for a busy day. 

Here are 3 beauty products that speed up my morning routine and help me jump right into my day... 

1. DRY SHAMPOO

I can't stress enough how much dry shampoo is a game changer. We all hate having greasy hair, but sometimes there just isn't enough time to wash & blow dry your hair in the morning, so dry shampoo is a life saver on those greasy hair days! My favourite is the Batiste™ Deep & Dark Brown Dry Shampoo, its affordable and it has a tint of colour so it doesn't leave a white cast on my hair like many other dry shampoos do. Another great (but more expensive) one, is the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo , this stuff will literally have your hair feeling and smelling like you just washed it! 

2. STICK FOUNDATION

I was a little hesitant to try out a stick foundation because it seemed like a product that I would run out of very quickly, but I just couldn't resist the hype of the recently launched Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation. Not only does this foundation offer beautiful natural looking and build able coverage, but it also takes half the time to apply compared to my regular liquid foundation routine. Plus, its creamy texture allows me to simply add a bit extra over small blemishes and dark spots and therefore skip concealer & save time! A similar drugstore product that I also love is the Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free + Balance Stick Foundation.

3. ANTI-PUFF EYE ROLLER

On those days when you don't have the time (or energy) to put on makeup, or just want to go for a fresh faced look, an anti-puff eye roller will instantly make you look awake! Simply roll this fabulous invention under your eyes and puffiness will virtually disappear. I know this sounds crazy but I promise you it actually works! This is also great to apply on your under-eyes before putting on makeup or when you get off a long flight, and I love keeping this in my school bag for the mornings when my face just needs an extra “pick me up” before I head to class. My go to product for this is the Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller.

When it comes to enjoying a day at the beach, my number one must have is wearing something that I feel comfortable and confident in. For that reason, finding a bathing suit to fit this criteria is essential. Keep reading to find out why I chose these 3 bathing suits as my "musts" and what items I would pair with them.

1. The MINA bikini top and bottom set is totally on trend, with its strappy meets cut-out design. Plus, I love that its black, which allows the bold design to shine without being over the top, which it might have been in a bold colour. My rule of thumb with bathing suits, is to pick one -- bold colour or bold design.

2. The KAILANI bikini top and bottom set caught my eye right away because of the unique detail on the bikini top. This type of design prevents the look of cleavage literally spilling right of your bikini top, a dilemma that women (like myself) with larger breasts tend to worry about. The colour options for this piece were also to die for.

3. The KAIA swimusit was one that I just knew I couldn't leave out of this post. I feel like one-piece swimsuits are making a huge comeback, and with the sexy strappy design on the back this piece proves you can look hot without showing a lot. I also can't resist a bright white bathing suit, it just makes a tan pop so well! Haha

& No beach day is complete without a cute cover up to throw on for that post-swim food fest or the relaxing drive home. The GWENDOLEN cover up, has that perfect boyfriend vibe, and the EMIKA cover up paired with beachy waves would look super cute for some patio dining in the sunset.

YOUR GUIDE TO PROM SHOPPING: Dresses OVER $200

Today I’m back with more prom dress picks and this time I’m showing you some higher end dresses, in the price range of 200 dollars or more.

While I don’t think you need to spend tons of money to look fabulous on your prom night, if your budget can handle it, I would definitely splurge on a banging dress before dropping the money on professional hair and makeup (that’s what YouTube tutorials are for, haha).

Keep reading to see my top six formal dresses over $200…(figures I wouldn't be able to narrow the expensive dresses down to just three!)

My first option is this stunning ADRIANNA PAPELL V-Neck Ombre Beaded Dress! This dress is so glam, I had to stop and stare at it for a good 2 minutes when I spotted it in stores. If you choose to go with a shorter dress for prom, I say go as flashy as you can! Pop some baby oil on your legs and give your fiercest red carpet pose when you rock this sequinned number. 

This XSCAPE Beaded Halter Top Gown with Cut-Outs is once again in line with my love for the cut-out dress trend that I mentioned in yesterday’s post. It also gives the illusion of a two piece set, and has beautiful beading. I love the intricate design on the top and simple black skirt on the bottom.

Next, this DONNA MORGAN Courtney Wave Paillette Blouson Gown is giving off major The Great Gatsby/flapper vibes, and I am 110% here for it. This dress is elegant, yet glamorous and is perfect if you want to show of your arms at prom. It also comes in 2 other metallic colour options.

A great way to make a bold statement at prom without having to wear a bold colour, is to wear a dress with a bold silhouette. This HALSTON HERITAGE Asymmetrical Colourblock Gown does just that! This dress remains sleek and sophisticated with its colour, but you will definitely make a mark with its leg bearing design.

This next dress is classy but SO HOT at the same time. I can picture this being worn by the super chic Lupita Nyong’o at an awards ceremony. The TOPSHOP Beautiful Lace Midi Dress is a conservative but extremely stylish take on a prom dress.

Lastly, this dress is just drop dead gorgeous, and something I would totally wear to prom if I could go again. The TOPSHOP Lace-Up Tulle Gown is everything a prom dress needs and more. The beautiful muted pink colour will look stunning on deeper skin tones, and the short train is a great added touch.

YOUR GUIDE TO PROM SHOPPING: Dresses UNDER $200

It’s been 3 years since I was shopping for prom but I always love looking at the formal dresses that come out around this time. So today I’m kicking off my “Prom Series” by showing you a few of my picks for Prom 2016.

I narrowed down my 3 favourite formal dresses on the market right now that are priced under $200, to give you some prom inspiration! Keep reading to find out why I love these pieces (pictured above):

I’m seriously loving any dress with cut outs lately, so this DECODE 1.8 Halter Gown with Nude Cut-Outs caught my eye right away! I love the colour and the cut of this gown, and most of all how the cut-outs show a little bit of skin without being too provocative. 

My second choice is this gorgeous TOPSHOP Column Strappy Maxi Dress. This is perfect for the minimalist and reminds me a lot of the dress I wore to prom so I had to include it. The colour is a beautiful deep jewel toned red, and the cut of the dress is giving me a sultry bohemian vibe.

Lastly, I wanted to make sure I included a dress for those girls who prefer shorter dresses! This is also perfect if you’re going as a guest at another school’s prom, or if you’ve been asked to prom by an upperclassmen. (I’ve always thought that you should dress a little more subtly, but still look super stylish when it’s not your prom!) This TOPSHOP Lace-Insert Sheath Dress is perfect to achieve this, it’s eclectic and stylish at the same time.

CURRENTLY LOVING: COPPER EYESHADOW

Copper and crimson eyeshadows are a great way to go bold with your makeup without using bright colours! I like using red and orange tones on the lid, tear duct area, and on the lower lash line, and then muting the look using a matte brown in the crease and outer corner. Then, I keep it simple with nude lips and simple face makeup.
