What TRio/Team Rocket Means To Me. ❤️🚀 (Small Analysis)
Hello Guys!! Hope you're all doing good and alright and everything's going well, so I've wanted to come here and make a quick little analysis here about my love for some of my favorite characters in all of fiction, wanted to talk about my love for Jessie, James and Meowth and why these three mean so much to me, also wanted an excuse to talk about Pokémon as well too as I just can't stay away, lol. It's also been difficult for me as of late in my life and I thought of talking about something that means a lot to me would make me happy. Now this'll be a short analysis and not as long as my other analysis but I've got a bigger analysis for Team Rocket that I'll do in the future later down the line, but for now I'll start talking about these three goofballs and why they mean so much to me, how they've impacted me. (^-^)
So Jessie, James and Meowth are always presented and seen as the villains of the anime, three criminals who always go after and follow Ash and the other Twerps and are always trying to capture Pikachu and other Pokémon, but many don't seem to realize how truly layered and tragic TRio are as characters as many have tried to demonized them and underestimate them only seeing them as "Time Killers" or "Filler" but there's so much more to Jessie, James and Meowth that meets the eye, there's so much more to these three that people realize, Team Rocket aren't evil in the slightest even if they've done terrible and bad things, they aren't bad people, throughout the whole show and even the movies, they're willing to risk their OWN lives to save the world and even team up with Ash and the others. TRio aren't evil, they just do what they do and feel is right and all they've ever wanted was to get the appreciation, love and respect they deserve, the respect they never got with the one they're wanting to impress and make proud the most is their boss, Giovanni. They may do bad things, but they AREN'T bad people. While TRio might not always be the best at their jobs and can be seen as clueless clowns or grunts, but underneath all that, they're incredibly engaging, deep and tragic human characters, they're one of the deepest characters in the franchise honestly with the saddest and disheartening backstories. They all grew up with awful childhoods with James living in an unhappy pampered rich life and being forced into marriage at a young age and having awful parents, Jessie living in poverty with literally nobody, she was an orphan and had nobody to support her or lean on, while Meowth was also left alone with no family, he struggled on the streets, and tried so hard to impress someone in hopes she'd love him, only to be rejected and called a freak, not accepting him for he was. Jessie, James and Meowth all had awful childhoods, and when you face and deal with so much turmoil and trauma, those scars remain and take their time to heal, that stuff sticks with you and can change who you are and have a huge impact!
It's understandable and makes sense for how Jessie, James and Meowth turned out the way the they did and why they joined and became apart of Team Rockets, because of their trauma and what they went through. And as adults we see that they keep this fragile, childlike way of seeing the world, they're almost like kids at hearts in a way. Their whole mission and what they fight for is to impress Giovanni and make him proud, it comes from this place of wanting someone to believe in them and see them for their worth, someone they think deserves their loyalty even when Giovanni and others look down on them, TRio throughout the show they are shown they're very talented in other things but stealing Pokémon and they are worth so much better without TR and Giovanni, but because they're so dedicated to their boss and what TR stands for, they can't 100% see that, willing to throw away their happiness and lives in order to receive the love and appreciation they crave and want. Again, while they've done bad things, they're not evil. They all have genuinely good hearts and see one another as family, being the only family they ever had. Jessie and James truly love their Pokémon, they respect and care for them, and even though they all bicker like kids, they care about each other so, so much and they'd all be lost without one another. That's what gravitated me to them so much, with seeing these three different people being able to find love and happiness in one another despite their trauma, being able to find a family within one another, they need each other. that's what made me root so much for them and why they meant a lot to me, why they resonate to them. Jessie, James and Meowth all fill and served a purpose in the team with Jessie being the beauty and facto leader of the team and also the driving force for her teammates, James serves as the heart and sweetheart of the team that keeps them all together, while Meowth is the brains of the group. But despite and beyond all that, they all came across as three people (with unique and different personalities and all with different backgrounds and lifestyles) who had a close, legitimate and genuine bond and friendship, even if they fought sometimes and didn't always get along and meeting one another has changed them all for the better. Each has been willing to make sacrifices for the other in order for them each to be happy and see them succeed, but Jessie, James & Meowth are all clearly happy together no matter what, because they're a family and you don't separate that, all three need one another more than ever and they're willing to fight and make sacrifices for the other just to see the other happy, that makes me happy just seeing these three goofballs with interesting and extinct personalities finding family and love together despite everything, it always made me root so much for them, to see they had so much going for them besides Team Rocket. ❤️
I just wanted Team Rocket to succeed in something, always wanted to see them happy and win for once just because they've gone through so much backstory wise, even If I knew that's not how things were gonna go I still always rooted for TRio as I wanted to see them succeed and FINALLY be happy as that's what they deserve, they deserve better as they're worth happiness and love, I wanted them to receive and get the happy ending they deserve. I can't express how much Jessie, James and Meowth have meant to me since becoming a fan and getting into the anime, the trio has taught me that even despite going through trauma and hardships in life, dealing with your lowest moments and being beat down constantly especially by the world and others, you're still able to keep on getting up and pushing through, TRio always don't succeed but the most important thing is that they don't give up despite constant losses and hardship, Team Rocket has taught me to keep on going no matter what, these three goofballs mean so much to me and have brought me so much happiness and comfort and I'll always smile whenever I see them, rewatching OG Pokémon more has given me more and more love and respect for them, I do miss the slice of life and lightheartedness of the original eight seasons that I feel lacked after 2006 and especially in the future seasons/series, that was especially the case with Team Rocket as they became more cruel, colder and evil, which is not who Team Rocket are supposed to be as they're supposed to be chaotic, dumb, goofy villains with hearts of gold not coldhearted and downright awful, and there were many moments in the modern seasons that just wrote TR how they're not supposed to be, BW did a lot of damage to TR and people's perspective of them honestly. I'll always love Team Rocket and how much they've impacted and changed my life, and I've said this before and I'll say it again I'll always be sad over how Jessie, James and Meowth didn't get the redemption arc and ending they RIGHTFULLY deserved especially after so much development throughout the show, the series showed so much much potential to end TRio's story and showing how the three had so much going for them and that they deserved better than working for Team Rocket but unfortunately, their story ends with them chasing Ash and Pikachu forever, leaving them unhappy and miserable, reaching towards a goal that'll never happen which is so unbelievably frustrating and unfortunate.
These three deserve so much better and there's so much more to them that meets the eye, I'll always love Team Rocket and I can't express how much they and Pokémon has impacted and changed me. And one more reason I have to mention that also shaped my love for Team Rocket was their voice actors mainly the Original VA's, that being the talented and late great Rachael LIllis, Eric Stuart and the talented and late great Maddie Blaustein, they always added so much heart, life and dedication in their performances, adding a lot of the humanity and heart that lies in the trio filling them with so much life, making them feel real. I can't overstate and express enough how much the humor and heart of Team Rocket brilliantly reflected in their voice work alone meant a lot to me, they always made me laugh and smile and even inspired me with some of my voice acting, encouraging me to improve and such, these three amazing, talented and great VA's really shaped a lot of my love for these characters and I'll forever love and cherish their wonderful and incredible performances, they're forever the trio in my eyes. Thanks Team Rocket and Pokémon for changing my life forever and making me smile and laugh and for having such a huge impact on me thanks for everything and thanks to you all for reading and listening if you got this far. Remember everyone, keep on blasting off at the speed of life, surrender now or prepare to fight, fight, fight! 🚀✨♥️
