I just finished watching the 35th anniversary of Beauty and the Beast panel and the second Alan Menken got a question he immediately mentioned Howard Ashman and I.....

Random but Iโm honestly surprised that shows like The Simpsons, Tiny Toon Adventures, and Animaniacs never made any jokes/references to The Black Cauldron considering how infamous that movie probably was back then (and arguably to this day).
Thinking about this again. You would think ESPECIALLY with the Tom Ruegger/Steven Spielberg shows, theyโd make some joke or reference considering how often those shows referenced Michael Eisner and Jeffrey Katzenberg (thereโs even episodes of Freakazoid and later seasons of Animaniacs that reference Katzenberg and DreamWorks). I bet if this Freakazoid segment went on a minute longer, Fanboy probably would have referenced The Black Cauldron:
