I dream of a Toy Story movie where Buzz meets other toys based on the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command series. He's got a whole supporting cast just like Woody does! You can't tell me that a Mira Nova doll wouldn't be a fantastic character--the fact that Jessie's already a character would just give them the chance to develop two women with different personalities. XR can be wisecracking comic relief. Booster would be a lovable bumbler like Rex. They could fit in here!

I like this! If Woody could meet other toys based on his franchise, why shouldn't the same be true for Buzz? It would be especially interesting too, because unlike Woody who had no awareness of his franchise or any knowledge of Jessie, Bullseye, or Stinky Pete, Buzz initially thought he was the "real" Buzz Lightyear, and he seems to have had (and possibly still has) all of the "real" Buzz's memories. So he would recognize his "old friends" if he met them in toy form.

I really hope the Aladdin tv series gets an HD upgrade like this someday.

I don’t know if this is confirmed, but I get the feeling that this movie was originally meant to be direct to video given it’s rushed story and cheap unfinished animation, but studio execs wanted to capitalize on the Disney Renaissance success like every other studio was doing at the time (funnily enough, Disney re-released Oliver and Company on the same weekend as All Dogs 2’s release). I honestly think it would have done better if they had just left it straight to video (because by that point, Disney had The Return of Jafar and Universal had 2 Land Before Time sequels that were very successful on home video).

I’m literally in the middle of the TV series portion of the video, and, let me tell you…the tonal whiplash between that and the first movie is astounding!

I’m sure I made a post about it in the past, but for some odd reason prior to the late 90s, I had only seen the sequels to Don Bluth’s 80s movies, so All Dogs 2 and the spin-off show were technically my introduction to the franchise. I didn’t see the 1st one in its entirety until summer 1999, and let me tell you, that was the biggest tonal whiplash I ever experienced as a kid. 😅
