Random question: Who or what are some of your biggest comedic influences that define your sense of humor? (Whether it be specific comedians, shows, movies, characters, etc.)
Every time I go on r/lionking, I remember why I don't go on r/lionking. 🙃

IT'S THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF DISNEY'S THE GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE!!!
Reasons you should watch this movie if you haven't:
It's one of the first Disney animated films to utilize CG animation, seamlessly blending CG settings with hand drawn animation (seriously, just watch the final clocktower scene it's a work of art!!!)
Features an incredible score by Henry Mancini, who also scored for The Pink Panther films and Breakfast at Tiffany's
Has one of the most disturbing/scary opening scenes of any Disney animated film
Has a burlesque show about halfway through the film
Features Vincent Price, famed horror actor, as the voice of the villain Professor Ratigan (and he sings!)
Genuinely has one of the most heart stopping climaxes of any Disney film, I could write a whole other post about this but y'all NEED to watch it
Has a protagonist who is very arrogant and self-assured but reveals many moments of genuine care and fondness that make him wholly likeable
Dramatic balloon chase!
A very heartwarming father-daughter relationship
Some absolutely incredible character animation like wow
Because it's been my favorite movie since I was a wee lad and it would make me happy if more people watched it 😊
It was also the directorial debut for animators Ron Clements and John Musker who would go on to direct The Little Mermaid (1989), Aladdin (1992), Hercules (1997), Treasure Planet (2002), The Princess and the Frog (2009), and Moana (2016).
"THERE'S NO ESCAPE THIS TIME BASIL!"
Today is the 40th anniversary of The Great Mouse Detective!
An underrated Disney classic, one I have childhood nostalgia for. I always liked that, set in Victorian London, it was so visually gloomy.
It's gonna reach 100 degrees tomorrow:
