Reblog and share some of your fave Pokemon-related memories, in the tags
there used to be a time on here, bizarrely, where i was so afraid to even SUGGEST that i respected the craft of the early Disney stuff because i was afraid that'd somehow reinforce stereotypes of "oh you're a girl of COURSE you like the CUTESY stuff", or that it was somehow deeply at odds with my fanaticism of WB cartoons (as if many of the directors didn't also respect and/or even work for Disney themselves). flash forward about 5 years and now i'm going to make myself sick from laughing imagining Porky as the gif of Pinocchio head down in the water and have at minimum 6 different drawing ideas, half of them being multi part comics, all related to this idea that purposefully makes 0 sense at all. this is called growth and using your resources
Lowkey he just like me

November 1999
What's everyone been into/watching/passionate about lately? I've been wanting to interact more but am at a bit of an impasse with my own passions as of late. So I wanna hear what's got you guys excited and stirred up! Whatcha engaging in?
I had to take a long break from gaming due to work, but since I’m currently on vacation, I’ve been slowly getting back into playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Besides that, I’ve mostly been keeping up with the new season of X-Men ‘97 and binge watching cartoons that I missed out on as a kid (the main one that I’m checking out at the moment is Buzz Lightyear of Star Command).
I’m surprised it took 14 episodes for Jim Cummings to pop up on the Buzz Lightyear tv series. In any other show from that time, he probably would have already popped up in every other episode.
“Well, well, well! Stromboli! So that ol’ rascal’s back in town, eh? Remember, Giddy, the time I tied strings on you and passed you off as a puppet?”
if i didnt know who these characters were i’d say its a french indie gay romantic drama that is playing a little too heavily with color symbolism
i think about this post like. once a week. and i mean that.

Catch The Crook, Clear Our Names & Wrap This Up By Supper “In Toons We Trust” (1993)
Whenever I hear Torque speak, it takes me back to that era of late 90s/early 2000s kids shows where whenever Brad Garrett popped up, he’d give most of his characters a “dudebro” voice and would end most of their sentences with “sweetheart” or “baby”. 😂
Happy 4th of July
hey genuine question what would you guys do if in the live-action zelda movie link is mute for almost all of it but then he has one (1) line and it's "well excUUUUUUUUuuuuuuUUUUUUse ME, PRINCESS"
I don't know how niche this is or even if there's a niche at all but can we talk about Buzz lightyear of star command? Can we talk about it please? This movie was so ingrained in my childhood and I've never seen any discussion about it online
Just found out there's actually a show too and it's not just the movie, I will be Buzz posting when I finish it

honestly xr is like the funniest character in the show aside from buzz and zurg like if i showed you a pic of him. would you even believe me if i tell you that hes the most adult oriented character in the team. bro is doing crimes while being a space cop, reading straight up victoria's secrets magazine on a DISNEY CHANNEL SHOW
I got to thinking about how Zurg is involved in the first few eps of the show (The Torque Armada, XL, Gravitina, Little Secrets) but weirdly not in a direct way, instead getting other people to do his dirty work (for example, nabbing a random biker thug lol), and I have a theory about why.
Obviously, out of universe the reason is that the show is establishing its rogues gallery, but I think you can make sense of it in universe too.
Basically, Zurg is still recovering from the events of TAB. That seems to have been his biggest scheme to date, he probably threw a lot of resources into it, he attacked what was presumably an important Galactic Alliance planet to steal the Uni-mind which almost forced a full-scale confrontation with Star Command (something I get the feeling both sides are wary of since they're pretty evenly matched), and he might still face retaliation from them for that and for everything else he did, plus his number one agent has been arrested, his tower is a wreck, and Star Command even occupied Planet Z briefly after he escaped in the Dreadnought (presumably he drove them off again, but who knows what kind of damage they did while they were there).
So while he's building his power base back up, he messes around with smaller-scale schemes that are very low risk for him because he's not directly involved, and that also don't require tons of resources. NOS-4-A2 was probably him testing the waters once his forces had recovered with something a bit more intense while still not being entirely hands-on in case it went south, and then Planet Destroyer is when he actually gets 100% back in the swing of things. From then on, most of his schemes are much larger in scale and he's usually actively involved (for example, Lost in Time, Rookie of the Year, Stress Test, Super Nova, The Lightyear Factor, Star Smasher, etc. which all have him striking directly at the Galactic Alliance in a very visible way).
There isn't really any kind of repeat of the first few eps where he's just roping in other people to do all the work, so imo it makes a lot of sense if that was just an interim measure while his empire recovered.
